Title: HWS-template (WD34) July version available
Post by: wvdkuil on June 27, 2019, 03:41:05 PM
First: much thanks for all those  beta-testers who spent their free-time to further iron out the errors and inconsistencies of this totally new release

As always the downloads and the documentation can be found here => http://wd34.weather-template.com/

Warning: In this release most scripts and especially the underlying logic has changed. Support for the April release will become more difficult in the coming weeks / months. Please witch  a.s.a.p.  I am sure you will be pleased by the improvements of the July release although I understand it will cost you hours of your rare free-time.

Improvements you do not want  to miss:
No more SQL, just the simple text files remained
Simplified code so you can change the scripts  yourself easier.
More adaption in colours, number of blocks, round versus square .

I'll need you to provide an unused w34_settings1.php file like the April release (https://www.weather-watch.com/smf/index.php/topic,67862.msg545314.html#msg545314).

Clicking on 'Nearby' in 'Current Conditions' brings up EBBR - Brussels.  I've got KMDT as my nearest METAR station in settings.

Prob a dumb question...but how do you exit the boxes that pop up when using the menu entries?  ie. the weather alerts or weatherflow map?

Is there a good way of migrating from daily, monthly and yearly .csv files in April version to .txt files generated in ./chartsmydata?

Yes, but it was not tested extensively.
Just rename them from .csv to .txt
They should be the same format.

That should work.

Otherwise I attach an unaswered  w34_settings1.php also.

As @bitsostring already explained I needed a WD34 version-number.  Did not want to much numbers and the not often used build can be easily  checked in the debug console.

Did you fill in the link in easyweathersetup?
It still seems to be the default one, including the typo
As the img is only used as a background img the whole pop-up is white, I think.

If there is a valid image I can test further.

On my system the only way I can find to return to the main display (without using the browser back button) is by hitting either the home button in the header or from the drop down menu.  Clicking outside the pop-up does nothing.  Why is there no "X" on the pop-up box?

For those items under Menu Extras that's exactly right (see reply #18 above). There is an X on all the pop-ups generated on the main page, but you only have to click outside the box for them.

For those items under Menu Extras that's exactly right (see reply #18 above). There is an X on all the pop-ups generated on the main page, but you only have to click outside the box for them.

Popups are the graphs, tables a.so. They have no headers and meno of their own, they are "superimposed" on-top of the normal page with the blocks. They always have a X on the left corner as I tested  at https://www.shermanctweather.org/pwsWD/index.php
You have to click on the X (or outside the box) to get back to the normal page or to the menu.
Test it, pop-up a graph,
click on menu => pop-up disappears but no menu yet
click again on the menu => menu opens

Extra pages as the menu entries   they fill the whole browser window, can therefor have no X, have their own bar with the clock, footer and the small blocks top-row.
You can go to any other page (including the home page) by opening the menu directly.

You can see this behavior better by switching to the dark theme.

Uploaded the July Version and cannot see where to add my webcam address in "webcam_c_block.php". I see where it says it goes, but not sure where to put it. It says as set with "easywaether". There was no place in "easyweather" to set the location. Thanks for any assistance. www.scannorthcounty.net/pwsWD/ (http://www.scannorthcounty.net/pwsWD/)

Not for all as I have to find a simple solution for the  extra upload data, that is why I did not include it in this version. Only WD-api (3 TH but  no soil) and WL.com (all) have the extra sensors

But one can add a block to w34_blocks.php and manually change the settings1.
When the next beta is available (August) a standard solution will become available also as an update for the normal releases.
It should include correct versions of extra_tmp_c_small.php and  soil_c_block plus a soil pop-up. Also all "extra"-scripts should be in easyweather.

Looks OK, but colours are not working?. . . Try putting "This hour: Temperature. . ." on the same line if you want to save a line and show Rain and UVI on separate lines. (URL as left but /pwsnew/: I've modified my original w34_util_ccn.php to get UV and colours.)

WD-clientraw has 8 extratemp/hum fields. . . I'm also using a WD customtextout.txt file to get extra upload data.

Yes it is.
Explanation: When there is no outside "official" alert and no internally calculated warning,  what should we display there?

Earlier versions used a "no alerts" message. But users thought that was a waste of space.
So if there is some meaningful information, like a forecast, that is displayed.

Some users changed the translation from "Weather alert" to "Weather message", but that is nitpicking.

Thanks for the explanation.  I'd suggest prefacing the forecast in the alert box with,"Forecast for tomorrow:". It was only clear to me that it was tomorrow's forecast when I looked at the forecasts in the "forecast ahead"pop up but perhaps I'm nitpicking too!!

https://www.m82a1.us/pwsWD/index.php?frame=weatheralarms (https://www.m82a1.us/pwsWD/index.php?frame=weatheralarms)
Then click on the warning.
Your site:
https://www.m82a1.us/pwsWD/nws-alerts-142/nws-summary.php
Click on the alert or the "no alerts" link for York  => HTTP ERROR 500  which means a PHP parsing error of some sort

My test-site (or try other users site):
http://wd34.weather-template.com/pws07/nws-alerts-142/nws-summary.php
Click on a alert or a "no alerts" link for NewHaven
=> http://release230/pwsWD/nws-alerts-142/nws-details.php?a=CTZ006#WA1 no error, normal output

===

I did not change anything in the "Curly" download from KenTrue's website.
Not even the folder name.  So it must be a change somewhere in the settings,

===

When I click for the details on an unchanged version the link reads
Code: [Select]
<a href="nws-details.php?a=CTZ006#WA1" title=" &nbsp;Details for New Haven" style="color: #000;">No alerts</a>but your link reads
Code: [Select]
<a href="wxnws-details.php?a=PAZ065#WA1" title=" &nbsp;Details for York" style="color: #000;">No alerts</a>
So there must have been a change to use another details page. This "wx" page is for a Saratoga site, not for a stand-alone version.
This is how the "nws-alerts-config.php" about line 40 should look:
Code: [Select]
// file names
$cacheFileName = 'nws-alertsMainData.php';  // main data cache file name
$aboxFileName  = 'nws-alertsBoxData.php';   // alert box cache file name
$iconFileName  = 'nws-alertsIconData.php';  // big icons cache file
$alertURL      = 'wxnws-details.php';       // web page file name for complete details - Used with Saratoga Base USA template
$summaryURL    = 'wxadvisory.php';       // web page for the alert summary - Used with Saratoga Base USA template
$alertURL      = 'nws-details.php';       // web page file name for complete details - Used for standard web pages
$summaryURL    = 'nws-summary.php';       // web page for the alert summary - Used for standard web pages
This is yours config,  the two lines which are commented are the cause of the error
Code: [Select]
// file names
$cacheFileName = 'nws-alertsMainData.php';  // main data cache file name
$aboxFileName  = 'nws-alertsBoxData.php';   // alert box cache file name
$iconFileName  = 'nws-alertsIconData.php';  // big icons cache file
$alertURL      = 'wxnws-details.php';       // web page file name for complete details - Used with Saratoga Base USA template
$summaryURL    = 'wxadvisory.php';       // web page for the alert summary - Used with Saratoga Base USA template
//$alertURL      = 'nws-details.php';       // web page file name for complete details - Used for standard web pages
//$summaryURL    = 'nws-summary.php';       // web page for the alert summary - Used for standard web pages
The "meant for Saratoga" scripts need other supporting data which is not there as we are running the stand-alone version.

Wim, if the user has entered a WeatherFlow station ID, could add in the 'Extra links' in the menu, in addition to the link to the WeatherFlow map page, a new link to the WeatherFlow weather station data/info page - the link should have this format:
Code: [Select]
https://smartweather.weatherflow.com/station/'.$weatherflowID.'/grid
In case you need/want to check my site, it can be reached at 'Tzouhalem-Maple Bay Weather  •  Maple Bay, BC (http://tzwd34.ddns.net/)'

Although I probably already know your response after looking at your PHP code, is there a way to prevent the display of the 'Official weather alarms' menu when there is no weather alarm?

Wim,

Experimenting with using  my own data for my historical charts. The system is working fine.

I am wondering if there is a way to upload my historical data for 2019 and the current Month to the text files on my server??

It appears to me that the Cron jobs will not run unless you select that in the settings menu. It would be nice if you could be collecting your WD data on your sever via the cron jobs, but still be using WU data as long as it it is working. So I could be collecting data every day, and if the WU api/charts quit working again,  I can switch to "my" data files, and have charts that contain complete historical data.

So the Cron jobs would be running as scheduled, collecting data, but the charts would come be served from WU api.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks.

It is not exactly clear to me what you want.  first my thoughts about this.
So this new month you should save the yearly file somewhere else, to make sure that it is not written over.

But if I understand you correctly, you want the stationcron to save to the .txt files now ALSO, although you are using WU for the charts.
To do so, change 1 line in w34_cron_stationcron.php, which reads now
Code: [Select]
if ($charts_from == "WU") {return; } to
Code: [Select]
# if ($charts_from == "WU") {return; }
You can manually run stationcron or wait 5 minutes and check the /chartsmydata/today.txt file
You have to run the w34_cron_addtoyear.php also daily at 23:55

But if I understand you correctly, you want the stationcron to save to the .txt files now ALSO, although you are using WU for the charts.
To do so, change 1 line in w34_cron_stationcron.php, which reads now
Code: [Select]
if ($charts_from == "WU") {return; } to
Code: [Select]
# if ($charts_from == "WU") {return; }
You can manually run stationcron or wait 5 minutes and check the /chartsmydata/today.txt file
You have to run the w34_cron_addtoyear.php also daily at 23:55

Wim

Thanks Wim,

That is exactly what I meant.
FYI: WU api has been running fine for almost 30 days now. But it would be nice to be creating a backup set of data at the same time, in case WU goes dark again.

Hi everyone,
I'm having a problem with the file: w34_listfile.php if I check the file: clientraw.txt
I get this error:

Warning: filemtime(): /w34_listfile.php on line 20
Warning: filemtime(): /w34_listfile.php on line 22
Filetime (UTC): 1970-01-01T00:00:00+00:00

does anyone know why? Is it a WD setup?
Thank you

1. PLEASE always give the URL to your WD34 site
2. You should us w34_module_test.php and select a file from the dropdown.
3. The messages tell us that there is not file clientraw.txt.
3.1 WD has to upload that file and
3.2 you have to tell in Easyweahter what the exact location is.

Check your settings, NEVER EVER start a link with /, that means the ROOT of your site at the host, often "public_html"
You should us './clientraw.txt' if it is in the pws folder
Or '../clientraw.txt" if it is in the root.

But again, without the URL there is not much anyone can do.

Two questions -

1. My small alert box (Top Right) shows a forecast in the box. Not sure what is in the box if there is a weather alert, as I have not had one since setting up the July issue. The forecast seems to be the same all the time. "Mostly cloudy throughout the day.", which is not correct. I see that others show the same thing and others say "no weather alert". Where does this come from and can it be changed either to "no weather alert" or a forecast that is correct. I see a discussion of this around reply #35, but there was no definitive answer that I saw.

2. The webcam block is elongating my webcam image, is there a way to change the settings to keep the "aspect ratio" so it does not stretch out the image. I looked around in the webcam block, but had no luck.

Thanks, John

At this moment "Mon 1 Jul   15:36:02" the box shows  Caution  Fire Risk Possible  82.9°F 40%
There are multiple possible "alerts" calculated and you could use the Curly  scripts (Saratoga) for your area also. You are already using Curly scripts, but no warning either.
When there is really no "special message" the forecast text for today will be displayed. It comes from your forecast
http://scannorthcounty.net/pwsWD/forecastDSdaily_popup.php?script=forecastDSblock.php
If the forecast is that bad, one could change the text in the script to display the "No alerts" message again.

script:  webcam_c_block.php  line 40 now reads:
Code: [Select]
<img src="'.$webcam_img.'" alt="weathercam" style="width:100%; height:'.$webcam_height.';" />change to
Code: [Select]

Code: [Select]
echo '<body style="background: transparent url(\''.$webcam_img.'\') no-repeat fixed center;  background-size:  100%; ">That should do the trick.
As I can not test it at the moment,  you should make a copy of the scripts before changing them.
But everybody does that always.  :D

Maybe Brian would be kind enough to add one to WD :wink:

I would normally add the tag to my customtxtout.txt to get data that's not already in clientraw, but looks like that won't be possible  :(

Meanwhile, I've put up Earthquakes instead of Max Wind|Gust  :)

That does not seem to work here (url as left but /pwsnew/). I made line 37

Code: [Select]
echo '<body style=" background: transparent url(\''.$webcam_img.'\') no-repeat fixed center;  background-size: 70% 100%; ">

You might have to play about with the 70% number.

STRONG ADVISE / WARNING
You should really try to not use a HTTP- link as that will force to load the file  by internet every time it is accessed.
Easyweather livedata file location:
Quote
Path to your realtime data file. Not used with an API.
Correct path is essential for live realtime data display.
Example "../clientraw.txt" when your file is in the root.

Also the readme:  http://wd34.weather-template.com/documentation/WD34-questions-2019-07.pdf
Quote
You should set the path to that file, for our example we use clientraw.txt.
Do not use an external ink such as http:// as that will drastically increase the load on your server.

Hi everyone,
I'm having a problem with the file: w34_listfile.php if I check the file: clientraw.txt
I get this error:  Warning: filemtime(): /w34_listfile.php on line 20
. . . shortened . . .
In this case the errors you mentioned are irrelevant.
A script can not ask for the file-modifed-time of a remote  (http://) file and during debug all errors are printed.

The file is retrieved and displayed correctly, albeit with extra overhead.

Sorry, Wim, not quite. Main block webcam (standard 640 x 480) is OK but pop-up is cropped at top & bottom (webcamtest.jpg) because the whole image is too big for the pop-up screen.

Compare with my version using code in reply #61 (mywebcam.jpg): url as left but /pwsnew/ instead of /pws/.

I have not tested this version, but why a white pop-up window? I almost got used to the grey window in previous releases (see mywebcam.jpg), but the white is overpowering with a 4:3 image.

I have removed the built-in webcam pop-up item from my Menu and added a link direct to the image - url as left but /pwsnew/  :)

Edit: went back to #1a1c20 window in July version (mynewwebcam.jpg) but the X is wrong. (Could not see that with a white window.)

I'm finally trying to get my Dahua outdoor IP camera to work outside of Blue Iris, starting with pwsWD.

I first tried a program called IPTimeLapse and haven't figured out yet how to get it working with my camera.

I then tried YAWCAM - no frills - but I've got it pulling 30 second jpg's from my camera and FTPing them to my site.  I have it creating 30 files (image00.jpg to image30.jpg).  I don't think that'll work for pwsWD.

In the configuration for file location I've tried several combinations, none of which have worked.

The latest is http://www.m82a1.us/public_ftp/iptimelapse/image00.jpg (http://www.m82a1.us/public_ftp/iptimelapse/image00.jpg)

I hardwired the first image name just to ty and get something to show up.  The images are there but nothing shows.

Ideally, I'd like to have a live video feed but I don't think that's possible as I'm behind a router.

I'm a little out of my depth here but if I can get it working with pwsWD, that'd be great.

Any help would be appreciated

You should always upload to the same location you upload your clientraw.txt => http://www.m82a1.us/clientraw.txt
Keep all files together so that all links should start with the same string.
After all scripts work,  you could make a folder in the root of www.m82a1.us  to keep all images together.

Do not upload to /public_ftp/  as that "folder" can not be reached from your www, which is probably  /public_html/
As soon as you have the .jpg in the correct location we can start working on it with testing how to get the image in
Quote
Ideally, I'd like to have a live video feed but I don't think that's possible as I'm behind a router.
1. The router is no problem at all.
Every router allows you to have a camara stream to the outside world.  It comes down to opening the port in your router and instruct the outside viewer-scripts which port+password+user to use.
2. The bandwidth is the real problem
Being the only viewer of the stream will be no problem. But if there are multiple viewers your camera can not handle that.
Or your local internet-provider caps the allowed upload.
Solution (but not "free"). use a stream-provider which is the only one to connect to your camera. And let the stream-provider then broadcast to the viewers.  There are multiple of those companies, prices vary heavily.
I use https://www.ipcamlive.com for  that at my main-site: https://weer.sluispark.be/index.php?p=mnu_webcam&lang=en and at the WD34 site for testing wl.com: https://sluispark.be/pwsTEST/
Works like a charm,  even if there are 10-20 viewers when there is a "happening" in the park below my appartement.

Thanks folks & Wim for the camera advice.

I now have it working.  Blue Iris is uploading a jpeg every 30 seconds to my website for my backyard camera.  It's fairly uninteresting but, hey, it works!

Last night, while trying to get it to work, an adolescent skunk walked onto the patio.  My wife and I watched it rooting for insects.  I'm glad I didn't step outside just then for a smoke break  :D

I'm playing with the text colors on the image, trying to get a good day/night readability mix.

Appreciate it,

You are using WeatherUnderground which is very unreliable the last months.
So, yes it can happen that there is no month or year data.
This is the link for your month data:
https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=ISERBIAK2&graphspan=month&year&month&format=1

At this moment it returns an empty file.

Readme: http://wd34.weather-template.com/documentation/WD34-questions-2019-07.pdf
=> Historical data: Use WU or your webserver
At time of writing it is still not clear if WU will allow us to continue to use the .CSV files of our data.
You can select to store the weather-data on the webserver, you need to run the station-cron then also.

Wait a few days to see if it improves. otherwise switch to store your own data for the graphs.

How about:

%maxavgspd% ................maximum average wind speed

Searching the tagslist file is a nightmare: e.g. Find "dewpoint" only returns one result, but there are a lot of "dew point" entries  :?

We're all at cross purposes here: I'm talking about tagslist.txt, which shows the tags I mentioned. I use these in customtext.txt to get extra data for w34 template.

Brian is talking about tags in clientrawdescription.txt but, as niko says, he means tagslist.txt.

Blainec is looking at clientrawdescription.txt, which does not show tags at all.

Quite happy to share the code for using tags in customtext in w34 if it would be of interest.

I would live to see the code you use.
Can you email it to me?

Don't think Wim will mind if I do it here, others might be interested.

Build your WD customtext.txt file with all the tags you want and get the resulting customtextout.txt uploaded to the same place as clientraw.txt (for simplicity). Then edit w34_livedata.php:

Code: [Select]
#  load clientraw
    $file_live      = file_get_contents($livedata);
    $wd             = explode(" ", $file_live);
#  load customtextout
    $file_live2 = file_get_contents('../customtextout.txt');
    $customtext = explode(" ", $file_live2);

The first three lines (101-3) already exist, just add the next three and then you can define the data from your tags like so:

Code: [Select]
$weather["barometer_max"]       = convert_baro ($wd[131],$from,$to);
$weather["barometer_max_time"]  = $customtext[10];   # tag %highbarot% - was 'n/a'; # clientrawextra 799
$weather["barometer_min"]       = convert_baro ($wd[132],$from,$to);
$weather["barometer_min_time"]  = $customtext[9];    # tag %lobarot% - was 'n/a'; # clientrawextra 800

or

Code: [Select]
        $weather['temp_garden']         = convert_temp ($wd[20],$from,$to);
$num = heatIndex($wd[20], $wd[26]);
$weather['temp_garden_feel'] = convert_temp ($num,$from,$to);
$weather["temp_garden_low"]     = convert_temp ($customtext[0],$from,$to); # tag %wmr918/68extratemplow%
$weather["temp_garden_high"]    = convert_temp ($customtext[2],$from,$to); # tag %wmr918/68extratemphigh%
$weather["lowgtemptime"]        = $customtext[1]; # tag %wmr918/68templowtime%
$weather["maxgtemptime"]        = $customtext[3]; # tag %wmr918/68temphightime%

where I have renamed Wim's $weather['extra_tmp1'] and added a few extra things (some of which have not made it to the /pwsnew/ version yet but can be seen at the original url, as left).

If I was starting out afresh I'd choose a shorter name for the array than $customtext - means less typing  :)

Using a customtextout.txt file seems more efficient than "exploding" clientrawextra.txt for a few extra items.

P.S. The tag %rainlasthourmm% (or imperial equivalent) is useful, it means "rain last hour" isn't shown as "negative rain yesterday" just after midnight:

Code: [Select]
# $value                          = (float) $wd[109] - (float) $wd[100];  # 2019-01-14 -21
# $weather["rain_lasthour"]       = convert_precip ($value ,$from,$to);   # 2019-01-14
$weather["rain_lasthour"]       = convert_precip ($customtext[8],$from,$to); # tag %rainlasthourmm%

Hi!
Have switched to using WDapi, See that there are a couple of errors in the file.
It's about last hour's rainfall, having the same value as today rain.
and 10 minutes of average wind has the same value as the last 10 minutes of wind direction.
Is uncertain whether avg wind as displayed is 10 minutes avg wind?

Yes, there are some improvements needed and also additional fields f.i. soil/moist.
But that is true for other weather-programs / upload files also.
I postponed that to the 2019-12/2020-01 version as I thought it was far more important to get the scripts error-free and user-maintainable.

FYI I attach all documentation about the API I have so far.
The fields such as +avtenwinddir+ are the internal WD field-tags, not the tags as used in templates a.s.o.

However, I had to change it to comma delimited file do to a space between time and AM/PM

Thanks very much

Hi!
What I can see is that precipitation last hour and average wind is wrong otherwise it looks okay. Good idea and get soil info in the package.
I now have clientraw as live data with charts from chartsmydata, it seems to work, I think.
Must let it roll for a few days to see if everything is ok.

Is there not a join() function somewhere that could have put them back together? Say, if $str1 was time and $str2 was AM/PM, then

Code: [Select]
$str3=join(" ", $str1,$str2)

You'll have to ask a better programmer than me  :)

You want to concatenate? In php that's just a period "."

Code: [Select]
$str3 = $str1." ".$str2;

It is there for foreign visitors, same as multiple languages.
But if it annoys you, remove these lines  362 - 373 from w34_index2.php
Code: [Select]
<?php

if($units != 'us') {$o_units 'us'$text='F';} else {$o_units 'metric'$text='C';}
echo
'<span class="" style="float: left; margin-left: 200px; margin-top: -2px;">
<a class="" href="./index.php?units='
.$o_units.'">

        background: #ff7c39; font-weight: 600; font-size: 16px;
        align-items: center; justify-content: center;">&deg;'
.$text.'</span>

I realise that, but when I use it the units change to Imperial. When I use it again the units change to Metric, not back to UK, so I still have to go into the Menu. I use it a lot in testing, and that's why it annoys me.

Thanks fror bringing this error to my attention.
All three metric variants use an C in the menu. So I assumed wrongly that one switches from   C to "US-F" and back to "C-metric".

I add a new w34_index2.php.  It now switches from  a temporary "F" back to the "C-as set in easyweather"
Also I adjusted the "clock" to 220px the get the stations=name correctly centered.

Can you please verify that is works correctly now?

Yes you can make your own pop-ups.
Steps to follow in this case:

1. Make a copy of webcam_popup.php and rename it to f.i.: my_webcam_popup.php
2. Please always adjust the first line of the script to reflect the new name
3. Adjust the code,  f.i. I did by including a webcam feed of a mp4
4. Add an extra line in w34_blocks.php to add your pop-up to the webcam block
Code: [Select]
$script = 'webcam_c_block.php';
$blck_ttls[$script]     = lang('LiveWebCam');
$blck_rfrs[$script]     = 120;
$blck_ppp [$script][]   = array ('show' => true,      'popup' => 'webcam_popup.php',   'chartinfo' => 'popup',  'text' => lang('Enlarge') );
$blck_ppp [$script][]   = array ('show' => true,      'popup' => 'my_webcam_popup.php',   'chartinfo' => 'popup',  'text' => lang('Movie') );

The "my_webcam_popup.php" is attached.

I tested this at the wl.com test-site  at https://sluispark.be/pwsTEST/
When you click on the smal webcam jpg in the block => the jpg is enlarged
But most people do not know that, so there are two pop-up links.
 "Enlarge" and "Movie"

===

It is slightly more work to add a second webcam block, but for that you should better wait for the October release. Then user-added blocks are fully supported.

I think there is a far bigger problem.
But first thanks for bringing this to my attention. I hope we can find a solution quickly.

realtime.txt is defined at: https://cumuluswiki.wxforum.net/a/Realtime.txt
The dates are in a metric order   d/m/y  and 24 hour times.
The separation between fields is the space character.

Your realtime file
=> http://www.tuley.online/pwsWD2/w34_module_test.php  select  ../pwsWD/WCT_Realtime.txt in the left bottom selector and click "List contents
=>
Code: [Select]
09/07/19 13:37:17 87.5 11 26.5 1.0 0 187 0.00 0.00 29.86 187 0 MPH °F inHg in 2.28 -0.02 0.06 2.66 0.00 80.1 35 87.5 0.8 87.5 1:17 PM 59.3There is a field 1:17 PM  which has a space in its data and therefor counts as two fields.
It should read 13:17 without a space and all fields would be aligned correctly.
In your file there are 6 time fields with an extra space before the am/pm which makes a lot of values invalid.
You have 64 fields in the file, other WeatherCat users have only 57.

As it is already evening / nearly bed-time, I will try to find a Weathercat setting to use a 24hour setting for the times tomorrow
If you are aware  how to solve this, let me know also for future users,

Wim

This is caused by a https page (yours) loading a http page (http://weather.gc.ca/warnings/report_e.html?ab12).
The browser needs to get a "do-it" , see attached screenshot.

I will try to find out if there is a script error or otherwise why EC gives us a link with http as the same page is available as https also.
The EC script is loaded from https, but the links in the returned xml are still http.
I changed the script to translate the http link to https, so it should work OK now.

1. It seems there is no setting for the time$ format in Weathercat, at least I could not find it. It simply uses the time-format as set on your Mac.
2. I adapted the w34_livedata script to replace the space between "hh:mm" and "AM" or "PM" with a html space character "&nbsp;" When processing the "space separated" realtime.txt it does not split the time fields.

Attached the changed version of livedata.php, can you please test it?

Yes, but I changed the script so it can cope with it.
position 1-4 are included to speed up loading of the page.
The alertsblock is normally loaded last via jquery_GET in a separate PHP process as it can take considarable time to get the alarms.

There are 4 blocks + 1 special for the alerts. You can put the alerts in another place in w34_index2.php
Code: [Select]
w34_weather_item ('position1',$position1); include $position1; echo $end_block;
w34_weather_item ('position2',$position2); include $position2; echo $end_block;
if ($extra3used == 'wide') {
w34_weather_item ('position3',$position3); include $position3; echo $end_block; }
w34_weather_item ('position4',$position4); include $position4; echo $end_block;
w34_weather_item ('positionlast',$positionlast);/*  include $positionlast; */echo $end_block;

This works also as used in http://wd34.weather-template.com/pws07/
Code: [Select]
w34_weather_item ('positionlast',$positionlast);/*  include $positionlast; */echo $end_block;
w34_weather_item ('position1',$position1); include $position1; echo $end_block;
w34_weather_item ('position2',$position2); include $position2; echo $end_block;
if ($extra3used == 'wide') {
w34_weather_item ('position3',$position3); include $position3; echo $end_block; }
w34_weather_item ('position4',$position4); include $position4; echo $end_block;
Better not change the question in easyweather. I will remove the alert-box from easyweather, just to make sure.

So i added it to my test-site http://wd34.weather-template.com/pws07/ and it displays without delay.

I attach a smal test script to see if it is in the script or in the webserver.
Unzip it and run it like http://swanston.maui.co.uk/test_curl.php
It will retrieve the data in a frame (using your browser) and by using curl on your webserver, I attach a screenshot how it should look.

Wim, I'm so sorry - I forgot that I need to add CURLOPT_PROXY to the script, as discussed back in April (https://www.weather-watch.com/smf/index.php/topic,67862.msg545797.html#msg545797)  #-o

That was such a long time ago. . . :?

I think there is a far bigger problem.
...
There is a field 1:17 PM  which has a space in its data and therefor counts as two fields.
It should read 13:17 without a space and all fields would be aligned correctly.
In your file there are 6 time fields with an extra space before the am/pm which makes a lot of values invalid.
You have 64 fields in the file, other WeatherCat users have only 57.

I believe you're correct. I manually edited the data file (realtime.txt), and all values look correct on display.
now to find a way to get WeatherCat to report the times without the space or in 24 hour format.

I'll continue to look as well..

Thanks!

I changed the script and tested it with your data, all look OK.
Please check this post https://www.weather-watch.com/smf/index.php/topic,68132.msg548342.html#msg548342

There are more weather-programs which can do  "am pm time" or using a "comma" as a decimal.
So the livedata script will be adapted every time we  find something new. But your "am pm"-problem should be gone when you use the livedata from that message.
Please test it,

Wim

Earthquake magnitudes to 2 decimal places are not centred. . .

I've replaced $magnitude with round($magnitude,1) in line 144 of earthquake_c_block.php, think that should work.

Yes, but I changed the [wrnWarningEU.php] script so it can cope with it.

Working fine now, and working even better since I changed the timezone in line 47 from Europe/Brussels to Europe/London. Now the alarms come in BST instead of CET  :)

Wim

YES!!! It works!  Thanks for the quick fix.... sorry I was delayed in getting it up and running.

Hello
I have the latest July version running at https://vancamweather.com/pwsWD/ (https://vancamweather.com/pwsWD/)
All seems well except the current conditions block.
The sky conditions are current with KPDX metar however, I can't figure out where the other data
within the block comes from and how to correct it.
Thanks

Hello
I have the latest July version running at https://vancamweather.com/pwsWD/ (https://vancamweather.com/pwsWD/)

That pwsWD  is not the July release. Seems to be the April release.
Always do a full install for the new releases, at least until the December release.

The current conditions you selected are from your METAR.
The other part of the information comes from the 1 hour DarkSky forecast
As there is no API key the old cached information is shown. And that is in Dutch.
Start easyweather-settings.
Enter a DarkSky API-key
Set the DarkSky language to your language
And the DarkSky forecast will be available for the current conditions block.

If all is OK:
Download the latest version from  http://wd34.weather-template.com/
Rename your current pwsWD website folder to pwsOLD
Upload the newly unzipped pwsWD folder
Copy the w34-settings1.php from pwsOLD to pwsWD
First run pwsWD/easyweathersetup.php  and check all default values, they are blue

Succes, Wim

Thanks for the help.
Updated to current version.
2 minor issues.
When I click on "nearby" under current conditions, it shows
EBBR instead of KPDX.
When I click on webcam, the larger display is blank.

Although the problems are minimized in this version, there will always be translation texts which do not fit. Weather-texts are often more compact in English then in other languages.  In this block the room for that text is nearly at its maximum.

If you do not want to change the php script yourself, you should change the translated text and remove the word solare
It is for the visitor clear what the values are anyway.

I have installed this fine template.
My weather station is a WS-1001 clone that sends the data to WU every 16 seconds without using a computer. I have a new API key from WU and get live data from there.
w34_cron_stationcron.php runs every 5 minutes.

But I have some mystifications.

-  The current data is displayed correctly, but the max and min values for both wind and temperature look mysterious.
It appears that it is always the minimum value displayed for both max and min for temperature. What numbers are displayed for max and minimum wind I cannot figure out.

-  I selected 1 decimal for temperature display. I also get 1 decimal, but the temperature is always rounded to the nearest whole number, so the decimal always shows zero. (If I switch to Fahrenheit, a decimal will be displayed correctly).

-  If I use Chrome browser, pop-ups for displaying e.g. "Wind today" fills the whole screen and the close button does not work, so I can only go back to the main screen with the browser's left arrow. When I use Firefox, it works normally.

Is that something that can be arranged?
There is no rush. The weather is the same, no matter what my weather station reports.

The template can not display more information than WU gives us.
Please check the debug-console here => http://weather.inaogmogens.dk/w34_module_test.php
Second row shows the file-contents as loaded from WU at the left dropdown-box:
"./jsondata/wucom.txt" => last measurement  =>current temp = 20 degrees
"./jsondata/wucom_day.txt" => todays high-lows
As you can see the three temp fields contain the same data, 16 degrees

You can check all the (recalculated) values we use in the template right dropdown-box: "Live data values"
I assume there is a small hick-up in the WU data as other stations are reporting normal values at the moment
Quote

The temperature WU gives us is without any decimals. That is a huge problem for all users. Also their new dashboard has the same problem.
When you use the F button the template scripts do the recalculation and round it to the 1 decimal you want.
But when loading the data from WU you should better use no decimals for temp.

I can not reproduce that using Chrome on your website. I myself use Chrome 95% of the time and do all development and testing with it. All graphs should work the same way as they are using the same script and the same pop-up code.
I attach a screenshot of the "Today" graph using Chrome.
QUESTION: Is it the daily-graph or the forecast (4th pop-up) by wind?

Thanks for using the template, and i will check a few times why your min-max temp values are all equal.

Wim

P.S. comparing your weather-values in the WU-uploads with those on your WU-dashboard there are more errors in the upload, also the pressure  min-max are both equal to the min value

Thanks for the quick response.

Temperature without decimals is OK for me. I just wondered.

The mystification with the pop-ups applies to all the links in the bottom of each field, but there is obviously a mistake in my Chrome - I just borrowed my wife's computer, and it works correctly, so sorry for the inconvenience  :oops:

Concerning maximum and minimum issues.
When I test modules that you suggest, I can see that the wucom_yday.txt file, which the program generates, writes minimum and maximum temperatures equally.

It seems to me that part of this file has been copied from wucom.txt in a way I can't figure out.

However, I can observe that the correct maximum and minimum temperatures and wind speeds can be found in the "pristine" wucom_yday.txt file. As far as I can see, WU has actually sent them correctly.

See

The values on the template you are talking about are from today as generated by WeatherUnderground.
Those values are generated from the database and sent to the website every time the scripts ask for it.
So even if the yesterday values are correct, the todays values were and are incorrect.
You can test that yourself with the link above, just fill in your api-key replacing the _API_SETTING_
Quote
Mogens
RECAP:
I even used another API-key and still the data from July 13 has correct values, from today, July 14, has incorrect values.
Your dashboard shows correct values for today but the api data has incorrect (the same) values for all temp fields and also equal values for pressure.
The time fields show that even in the browser, todays data is from just after midnight. obsTimeLocal   "2019-07-14 00:04:51"
So there is definitely a problem with the database at WU, not with a script.
Code: [Select]

obsTimeLocal "2019-07-14 21:29:38"
metric
tempHigh 20  tempLow 15  tempAvg 17

When I retrieve your data but in English units (F, mph, inHg) I get correct values

Lets see if it is OK tomorrow, otherwise I have to think about some solution using English units.
You can check my test-wu-website at https://hwsdemo.000webhostapp.com/pws07/index.php
It displays the data correctly as WU is delivering correct data.
For now I have no quick solution.

There seems to be an error in WU data retrievel.
It always returns the same data you first asked for the day.  The whole day exactly the same data is returned
https://api.weather.com/v2/pws/history/daily?stationId=IDKFREDE2&format=json&units=m&date=20190714&apiKey=_API_SETTING_
That is why i got recent data when testing a few valid WU-ID's, as they did not used this api earlier today.
I now tried a modified (but not  in the official API-docs) api call which seems to work better, a range of dates but for today only.  I think it is a 50% change that it works tonight.
https://api.weather.com/v2/pws/history/daily?stationId=IVLBRABA2&format=json&units=m&startDate=20190714&endDate=20190714&apiKey=_API_SETTING_

I adapted the script, please test it a.s.a.p.

But probably they start using a large caching server which simply does not return the data more often then 1 /day. Also for today.

As you probably have discovered, I have no understanding of programming, but with your explanations I understand more and more  :wink:.

I have replaced w34_load_files.php with the new one.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to change anything, - still the same value for min and max.

I'm almost sorry to bother you. If the error is with WU, the problem may be impossible for you to solve.

The data for the graphs com from WU and there is only UV data available, no solar.
As it is still not clear if and how WU will continue access to out own data, I will start after my vacation with new graphs based on the new WU-api.
The 7 day data contains both UV and solar.  There can probably be a meaningful  UV-solar graph added.

I do not understand what what you mean with ET-index.
There is a calculated ET-value (Evapotranspiration) when there is a Davis console but not all weather-programs deliver that.
There are requests for soil-moist sensors and extra temp-hum sensors, so the ET-value can be added to the list of new weather-values.
Be aware that the WU-data does not deliver any ET-values as I am aware of.

Use for all these and further  "wishes" the special "wishes"-topic => https://www.weather-watch.com/smf/index.php/topic=68196.new#new

I have put the full html address in for the clientraw.txt file/webcam pic and that works fine, as you say for some reason wordfence allows the old version to work, but not the new July version. I will just leave the full address for the time being. Many thanks for the prompt reply. I guess other people may come across the same issue if they are looking to another folder backwards.

Hello  Wim,

the solar radiation data are availabe from WU, you already fetch it with your actual data set.
I added the solar radiation graph to w34_graph by
$grphs['solar|day']   = '|'.       '|0|'.lang('Solarradiation').'|'.               '|0|'.lang('Solarradiation').'|'.$temperatureconv.'|'.'W/m2'.     '|13|-1|HH:mm|12|||';

Problem with max wind|gust block just after midnight when max gust not displayed at all. Checked live data and max gust was 0, so I'm guessing it's down to the conditional in line 79 of wind_c_small.php

Code: [Select]
if ($weather['wind_gust_speed_max'] <> 'n/a'

which says, basically, if max gust is n/a (or 0) then don't show anything. (But I haven't worked out why max wind time was still showing 14.20.)

All OK this morning  :)

Wim, I might have fixed it. I'm using the Cumulus CRT to creat the realtime.txt I changed the setting from loop to archive. I think what was happening is that the Acurite was updating different readings at different intervals which caused the null values.  Thanks!!

Setting Country Flag -

I have made attempts to change the country flag on my site. USA - I changed the $flag setting in "setings1.php" to "us.svg", but any time I save the "easyweathersetup.php" it reverts back to the British flag. There does not seem to be a choice in "easyweathersetup.php" for a US flag. Is there another file that I need to change along with $flag in "settings1.php"?

No, no luck. Renamed us.svg to xx.svg (Renamed the old xx.svg first) and changed Easyweather to "Your Country" also changed $flag in wd34settings1.php to xx.svg. Still loads with British flag. Also on numerous occasions when I save Easyweather, it reverts to a different version and my changes are gone.

Well, I thought it was working!! As soon as I open Easyweather and save close it reverts back to UK flag. It is like it is opening an old file. If you have to clear the cache to go into settings that just isn't going to work.

But I haven't worked out why max wind time was still showing 14.20.

It seems that neither %maxavgspdt% - "maximum average wind speed time" -  nor clientraw [135] - "max gust today time" - is reset at midnight.

I refreshed the WD34 page (Ctrl-F5) at 0002 this morning and got noreset.png, attached. At 0014 everything was OK again, see reset.png. (Clientraw is uploaded every 20 secs, and customtextout every minute, so that should not be a problem.)

When I received the 2017 scripts last year, I planned 4 versions for this year. This is the July version, which was ready for download June 27.

There is a update zip you have to download also.

You should not to have to clear the cache (with FTP).
All is needed is a force reload which "refreshes the cache for the current site only" => "ctrl" F5
=> https://refreshyourcache.com/en/cache/
So the old xx.png will be reloaded with a new version, if it is changed or not.
Sometimes this is also necessary when a css file is changed.

It's great that you want to look at it.
But you must enjoy your vacation.
As I wrote, there is nothing urgent.
OK. I think I have a solution.
There is also a 7day summary for uploading-users with an API-key.
That summary is updated every 30 minutes or so, not 1 / day as with the daily summary.

So I adapted the load data scripts
And in the live data the current temp/wind a.s.o. are checked with the available high-lows also.

I attach the two scripts, make a copy of the current ones before replacing with these test-scripts,

Wim

P.S.  Ken True (Saratoga) found a solution for the data without decimals, it seems to work and is tested for a few days at
http://wd34.weather-template.com/pwsWD/index.php?theme=user

The current data with decimals will really make a nice dashboard, I think

weather.inaogmogens.dk (http://weather.inaogmogens.dk)
Yes, that is the problem with the "old" / "shortly retired" / "maybe not"   .csv data
There seems to be a recurring problem with every station for a few days every now and then.
I myself missed some days in June, https://weer.sluispark.be/index.php?p=mnu_reports&lang=nl#data-area
they appear on the WU-dashboard so they are in the TWC.com database.
But not in the WU downloads.  => https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IDKFREDE2&graphspan=year&year&format=1

There are multiple persons working to find a solution to add missing days probably  by using an API-key load.
There will be a solution for this in the coming months, but only if WU decides to keep the .csv downloads operational.

For the October version I am now adding other graphs by using the API:  detailed graphs for today &  yesterday  and high-low graphs for last 7 days,  last 31 days a.s.o

I am still testing the decimals, as it is an "un-documented"parameter.
As always with WU I want to be sure that it works for at least a week. http://pwsdashboard.weather-template.com/pwsWD/

It only seems to work with F as the scripts recalculate the received 18.0°  to => 64.4°

This is not a PWS-dashboard problem, it is a http://collapit.ddns.net:8081/   problem.

Using an iPad: I tested with your site and with http://pwsdashboard.weather-template.com/pwsWD/  (also uses WU + webcam)

Your site does not display the webcam image most of the times as the image from http://collapit.ddns.net:8081/ never fully arrives, the browser is still trying to load data, even if the data is "almost" there.
I opened http://collapit.ddns.net:8081/ on the iPad it never shows the received data.
On a mac it shows the image but still tries to fetch more data.

I think you should change is in such a way that the camera should not be accessed for the image.
The image should be  uploaded every so many minutes and then accessed from the website as a normal image.

Around midnight there is a lot of housekeeping for a weather-program: min/max today, yesterday values, optional min/max month/year a.s.o.
So it is often that until some time ( 1/2 hour) not all values are initialized.  The times will be correct after the first non-zero measurements.

There are two parts: The top part is, in your case,  the current conditions from WeatherDisplay.
The bottom part (with the 30C) is the current "this"  hour forecast, from DarkSky.
Add a DarkSky key and that information will also be current,

Today I have sent the following to WU.
Exciting if there is a solution.

Hello

I have a weather station
IDKFREDE2
which sends data to WU.

I have found some mystifications.

When I want to get data for this year here
https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IDKFREDE2&graphspan=year&format=1 (https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IDKFREDE2&graphspan=year&format=1)
stops data by July 25.

If I want to get data for August here
https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IDKFREDE2&graphspan=month&format=1 (https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IDKFREDE2&graphspan=month&format=1)
I get a file with no data.

Data for July 25 as here
https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IDKFREDE2/graph/2019-07-25/2019-07-25/daily (https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IDKFREDE2/graph/2019-07-25/2019-07-25/daily)
says there is no data. This is mysterious as both maximum and minimum values are present.

Year and month data should be used in this template
http://weather.inaogmogens.dk (http://weather.inaogmogens.dk)

Can you fix it so I can retrieve my data again?

(I know I have problems with correct temperature display, but shouldn't that be the cause of these problems?)

Kind regards

you do not say what weather station you have or what software you use

Data is present at WU - except for July 25.
See
https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IDKFREDE2/graph/2019-08-4/2019-08-4/daily (https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IDKFREDE2/graph/2019-08-4/2019-08-4/daily)
Scroll down and click "Previous"
WU simply does not send data on request.

WU knows both weather station and software.
Click the round "i" next to "IDKFREDE2" at the top of the same page.

This is not a HWS or script problem on our side.
This is a problem on the WU/TWC site where the two databases, old-WU and new-TWC are not always correctly synchronised.

Check these and  other discussions on the wx-forum:
https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=37137.msg386502#msg386502
https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=37512.0
and on the WU forum:
https://apicommunity.wunderground.com/weatherapi/topics/huge-amount-of-data-is-missing-on-pws-dashboard

I am 100% sure that they will solve the missing data for the API-json scripts corrected as they need that to populate the dashboard.

If hope they have time and resources enough to get the old .csv fully operational again.
But if we have to abandon the .csv, it is not a big deal for the HWS-template type scripts.
The .csv files are only used for the graphs and we should then use the 7 day API-json history and cache the data  to obtain longer periods.

For now WU is slowly improving, we even have the decimals for our data back!

. . . shortened . . .

Ken True (Saratoga) found a solution for the data without decimals, it seems to work and is tested for a few days at
http://wd34.weather-template.com/pwsWD/index.php?theme=user

The current data with decimals will really make a nice dashboard, I think
@ ONLY for WU - uploaders!
There were no problems during testing and WU itself is still using that "&numericPrecision=decimal" in their API-calls for the dashboard.
So I attach a folder, with  the old version (just for safe keeping) and the current version of  w34_load_files.php

Wim, does WD34 interpret the barometer setting that comes from the Weewx Cumulus realtime.txt file. It always appears high compared to the reading on WU and on my Acurite display. I realize this is probably a Weewx problem, but wanted to see if anyone has experienced the same problem.

Do you still have the url to the site?
Those times are coming from the uploaded realtime file and are processed in the same way.
I added extra code to the wind script end of July, but that has no effect for that site.
I have to check the upload file and see what the exact uploaded time strings are. And copy that file to adjust the code.

The scripts just display the values received. They recalculate if another unit is requested than the one in the upload-file

WU => upload file 1010.84 hPa / 29.85 inHg  => displayed correctly on the dashboard for hPa and inHg
Weewx => upload file [10] => 29.89 inHg   => displayed correctly on the dashboard for hPa and inHg

Maybe you are uploading station-pressure to the dashboard and the correct sea-level pressure to WU?

I went into the Weewx config file and had it subtract 26 from the pressure being sent via the realtime.txt. I'm not sure if that's the correct way to do it, but it's close.

Noticed this yesterday.
https://beacon-rd.000webhostapp.com/pwsWD0627/index.php

The data received from WU contains those strange low values for today and yesterday [stationID] => KPARENFR7
Code: [Select]
                    [obsTimeUtc] => 2019-08-06T14:24:41Z
                    [obsTimeLocal] => 2019-08-06 10:24:41
                    [tempLow] => -38

                    [obsTimeUtc] => 2019-08-06T03:59:46Z
                    [obsTimeLocal] => 2019-08-05 23:59:46
                    [tempLow] => -39
And in this case it seems your weather-station is uploading a strange temperature last two days. All days before it was OK.
The scripts can only display what is received from WU.

The same values are displayed on your WU-Dashboard also https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KPARENFR7
Check attached screenshot.

===
It seems not to be a WU problem as other WU sites do not have those strange values.

===
Those strange values occur in your other downloads also, this is the yesterday URL: https://api.weather.com/v2/pws/history/daily?stationId=KPARENFR7&format=json&units=e&startDate=20190805&endDate=20190805&apiKey=_API_
And also in metric and english units, same value -39

Very strange,

Wim

Yeah, I found that the data was bad after I sent the post. I was blaming the WU data server, but, the Acurite site show the same bad data.

Today I have sent the following to WU.
Exciting if there is a solution.

Hello

I have a weather station
IDKFREDE2
which sends data to WU.

I have found some mystifications.

When I want to get data for this year here
https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IDKFREDE2&graphspan=year&format=1 (https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IDKFREDE2&graphspan=year&format=1)
stops data by July 25.

If I want to get data for August here
https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IDKFREDE2&graphspan=month&format=1 (https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IDKFREDE2&graphspan=month&format=1)
I get a file with no data.

Data for July 25 as here
https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IDKFREDE2/graph/2019-07-25/2019-07-25/daily (https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IDKFREDE2/graph/2019-07-25/2019-07-25/daily)
says there is no data. This is mysterious as both maximum and minimum values are present.

Year and month data should be used in this template
http://weather.inaogmogens.dk (http://weather.inaogmogens.dk)

Can you fix it so I can retrieve my data again?

(I know I have problems with correct temperature display, but shouldn't that be the cause of these problems?)

Kind regards
Mogens Ørsted

Is this only affecting certain WU pages? My data stop showing up on my WD34 page on July 25th as well, but I see other pages that still show the data. The data is still visible on my weather underground page.

Yes, the error apparently only applies to some WU sites.
Your problem seems to be quite like mine.

I have not received a response from WU. I probably didn't expect that either  :x But on their forum they write

"Hi, Ul Ke!

This is a problem we know about and have in the queue to address.  I hope you will be patient with us while the programmers work.

What is the URL to your website?

You should also check if the key you copied to easyweather does not have any spaces before or after the string.

it is not that easy as those big numbers with their pixel positioning,  were removed for the July release to make user changing of the scripts easier.

As requested and only of interest for those users running the PWS-Dashboard in an iFrame inside another template or website page:
==>  test http://pwsdashboard.weather-template.com/pwsWD/?stripall

Adding the stripall parameter to the URL removes the header, menu and footer.

Maybe also an option when using a spare iPad as an extra console.
But in that case you will loose the menu also.

When there is no real weather-alert, most users get a forecast text (from WS or WU) in that alert-box.
There was a PM with the request for a WXSIM forecast text also.

Please for WXSIM users, test this version, after you make a copy of the current version.
The WXSIM forecast texts can be quite long, so the font-size is adjusted based on the length of the text.

Wim, the use of the WXSIM data seems to work well.

How difficult would it be to replace the 'Weather alert' header text with something more relevant to the text in the box, such as, possibly, 'WXSIM Current Forecast' (just a suggestion).

After replacing some distribution scripts with new scripts you have posted in previous messages, the date and time appearing on the top right corner border is pushed down by about 5-10 pixels.

All these scripts are posted here as a pre-release-test.
As you can check at the screenshot in the message for the WXSIM forecast, the date/time script is also changed.
It  now replaces the  ?too heavy?  "Weather Alert"  text.
Another wish/request: "When using my smart phone the server date-time  is not shown, can you . . ."

So it seemed better to move the alerts to the left and have the data time in the header of that box.
The content in the box will explain if it  is a forecast or a warning or a alert.
Now the menu, and home button plus the C/F switch and clock are all together visible in the top left corner.
Please test this version of the clock script, after making a copy of the current script.

Because you are testing the WXSIM / forecast to the alert box. That WXSIM part seems to work OK but those texts are sometimes extremely long.
I have to check the EC forecast also.

All scripts including the adaptions for stripall, clock, alert box to the left a.s.o. which are tested now and in the coming days will be gathered in the next update.

OK  :D
And you are a prime example for stripall , therefor change the link in your metotemplate to https://www.shermanctweather.org/pwsWD/index.php?stripall
I think you do not need the menu, header  or footer hen running it in the meteotemplate.

If you also use the clockscript the alertbox will show the server time also.

Wim, I did mind having the date/time in the top right corner of the header - I was just pointing out that it was displaying a bit too low with half in the header and the other half in the box below.

I have installed the modified 'clock_c_small.php.zip' and having the time/date at the top of the WXSIM forecast window/box is nice. Could you possible add a bit more distance between the time and the date or even add the '|' character as you have between 'Max Wind | Gust'.

When displaying the WXSIM forecast, you seem to be using the 'text-justify' property - since the WXSIM forecast can be long at time, it might be better if the text was not justified.

As for using the Environment Canada forecasts ... they are usually very short ... compared to the WXSIM forecasts which are more explicit.

By the way, thank you for all the modifications you have made and the modifications you will make...  :wink:

All texts are "centred" as set by the HTML CSS. Changing to left justify will not create more area for the texts.

The font-size is already adjusted based on the length of the text. I will try to improve that there.

?stripall
When using that URL parameter, the menu is hidden.
But a small problem arose when testing it.
There are two type of pop-ups, the ones in a frame on top of the current page, works correct with  ?stripall

The other one is  a link to a new page.
Only used so far for a wind-forecast => http://pwsdashboard.weather-template.com/pws07/ wind-block =. forecast
And that does not work as "user-friendly" as it should with ?stripall
The menu, headers and footer are shown as it is a new-page, not a pop-up

So I changed the blocks file and added the windy.com pop-ups for temp, wind, rain and baro. =>  https://pwsdashboard.com/pwsWD/
Also removed the new-page for wind, it is still available in the menu.
One new script is added to display the new pop-up.

Just noticed a problem in current conditions block: there is a point (full stop) after the windspeed units in "This hour" Wind-Gust forecast. Suggest deleting the point in w34_util_ccn.php - the last line shown here:

Code: [Select]
echo '</span> '.$windunit.PHP_EOL;
# rain
if (isset ($hourlyPrecipProb) )
     {  echo '.<br />';

Apologies: I have modified my original file so I can't give line numbers, but I think it will be obvious.

Obviously tested too much versions at the same time  :oops:

 :)

But now you have switched your demo to the 12-hour clock (see attached) I think there might be too much space between time and am/pm; and an unnecessary space after the date numerals (17). IMHO. . .

Be aware that most providers do not allow the very frequent execution of PHP scripts, that is why the times are set this way.

All individual blocks  have their own refresh times.
You can adapt those times in w34_blocks.php   The wind-block has a default of 40 seconds.

The scripts are using the plaintext files from wxsim.
And Ken True's plaintext parser.
Check the settings in the pwsWD/wxsimPP/plaintext-parser.php script.

https://www.shermanctweather.org/pwsWD/wxsimPP/plaintext-parser.php   returns a dutch forecast so there must be a setting in the script to do that.
Change line 134 to your language,
Code: [Select]
$lang = 'nl';                             // default language is 'en' = English

It is in my script, but I am not using the latest version. . .  :)

It is line 138 in the latest version, which puts back the UV estimate in front of rain, but correcting it might affect something else further down?

EDIT: Having looked at it again, I think it's OK to delete the point in the latest version too.

That is a severe problem with WU.  They are working on it, maybe they solve it or they kill it altogether.

Most stations have intermittent gaps in the .CSV downloads as they often contain partial data only. Your yearly data is only available until July 25.
https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=ILORRAIN49&graphspan=year&year&format=1
Yout "this month" data is  empty file https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=ILORRAIN49&graphspan=month&year&month&format=1

Your other weather-websites are affected also, example  => July 25
http://valdefench57sgz.franceserv.com/realtime/weather28/index.php?p=wsReports&lang=en&wp=MB#data-area

There are dozens of discussions about all WU problems at the WX-forum, most important one: https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=37137.0

Thank you!

How long to be patient?

Have you heard anything from WU? Nothing has changed on my site.

the answer :

" The URL you are using has been retired. It will not return reliable data.
If you are uploading data, you have access to the PWS API. You can download data via the API. Go to “My Profile” > “Member Settings” “API Keys” and you can generate a key and connect to the documentation for the AP
I "

normally the key should work well ...
maybe the URL used does not work because it does not use a key ?

Bit late now, but I can't help wonder why the Dark Sky rain forecasts should be so drastically different between the Jan and July versions.

Same place, same time, same API key.

Same place, same time, same API key.
There was (maybe still is) some confusion about what the amount shown in the DarkSky file means.
https://darksky.net/dev/docs
=> SI units are as follows:
==> precipIntensity: Millimeters per hour.   (also for UK2 units rain is in mm)

=> A data point object contains various properties, each representing the average of a particular weather phenomenon occurring during a period of time
==> precipIntensity: The intensity (in inches of liquid water per hour) of precipitation occurring at the given time.
So it is now assumed that for a day forecast the intensity is the average for 24 hours in mm, not in inches.
The scripts display the value from the day-record but multiplied with 24 to get the daily value.

There are two different answers from WU.
One source tells us that the old .CSV will be discontinued, we are using that now and it does not need an API-key
Other sources say they are still working on a solution to have 1 year data

For now the API-key is only used for retrieving a WU-forecast in the PWS_dashboard scripts..

If the situation will not improve a lot of scripts has to be adapted.
The graphs for the PWS_Dashboard are relative easy to replace as there is a one-day detailed API-call and a 7-day high-low API-call.
But the API documentation is not stable either as they just re-introduced decimals and allowed the use of a 30 day period.

So I prefer to wait a little longer before rewriting the graphs and write a script to assemble a 1-year-daily file using repetitive 7-day calls and caching.

Another solution, using cron to build your own files.

I had a look at the current documentation, and I agree that the data point objects are all defined in Imperial units - the default. However, it seems obvious that, if you request a response in uk2, you should get UK units returned. So there should be no confusion. I presume this is what you are assuming now.

So what was being assumed in January? I can not see any easy conversion factor.

EDIT: It has been pointed out that July rain ~ 6 x January rain  :?

You should run the w34_cron_stationcron.php every 5 minutes and the 34_cron_addtoyear.php  at 23:55
The files will be created the first time the crons run.
The data will be loaded into the day file by the station cron.
The addtoyear will add 1 line to the yearly file and 1 line to the month file.

You normally never have to change any scripts.
In this case you should change your easyweather setting as in this screenshot.

A quick look at the scripts showed that the January release was using the single value "precipIntensityMax" instead of the current "24 * precipIntensity". . . problem solved.
Title: PWS_Dashboard-HWS_Template switch from WU to cron data for graphs
Post by: wvdkuil on August 21, 2019, 09:41:30 AM
For those who already want to switch from WU to your own graphs-data,
I wrote a smal script to convert the WU_CSV file in chartswudata/ to the data as used in chartsmydata/

The script will get your wuID from the easyweather settings, read the  chartswudata/_wuID_.txt
and outputs chartsmydata/2019.txt  and 2019_08.txt

I have no access to a WU.CSV file with imperial units, so maybe some USA user would be so kind to test it.

The graphs at https://www.weerstation-herent.be/pws07/  now use the converted wu data.

You have to set the easyweather setting to use your own data
AND run the w34_cron_addtoyear.php at 23:55 every day
AND rund the w34_cron_stationcron.php every 5 -> 10 minutes, but most of you already use that cron.

PLEASE remove the script after use from your pwsXX/ folder, it has to run only once.

===

A lot of us are missing one or more groups of multiple days of data in their WU-CSV files.
This weekend I will write a small script to search the WU-api-database for those missing days in the converted file.

The version of the script I posted yesterday, only converts the WU file without adding missing data.  So yes, only the available data until July 25 was generated.

The new version (planned for this weekend) of the script  reads the WU-api and tries to add missing days. I was glad to test that new script with your ILORRAIN49 data.
Attached the chartsmydata/ folder with all available  from the .CSV and the WU-api history.

The only days missing are 2019-07-27 2019-07-28 and 2019-08-12
Unzip the folder and move only the 2019.txt  and 2019_08.txt to your website => chartsmydata/  folder.

@ALL
Very strange, it seems that the new data base has it flaws also. There are more and different days missing in the dashboard as in the .CSV

I do need some other wu_ID's with missing data to test with.
Post or PM me your wuID if you have missing data in the .CSV which, in your opinion, was uploaded correctly to WU in the past.

The graph colours has always been this way. Maybe a small screenshot would help to clarify.

Discordant colours are those that are almost opposite each other on a colour wheel. In colour theory, a complementary colour is the one directly opposite of a colour.

I checked your website and I found an error in generating the files when using weatherlink.com
The values should be in imperial units, same as the data from wl.com, but they were in your default units.

If these are correct, I will regenerate the ones for your first site also.

I had to rewrite the script to remove the html warnings a.s.o.
It will display the current and 2 next meteor showers, sun & moon eclipse  and now contains clickable links to the wikipedia descriptions and IMO calendar.

As test I run it at  https://pwsdashboard.com/pwsWD/ click the "meteors" link in the sun or moon block.

Wim, you can use my site https://pendulous-here.000webhostapp.com/ I haven't had any data since 7/25. Do I need to do anything first?

Looks good, Wim, but the translations don't work  :(
Yes on purpose as not all languages had decent translations.
Translations will now work and caused by some remarks of @beteljuice I added more information. F.I. peak dates now show the period, not the first day.
Also the  new pop-up look as with the UV pop-up, so without  the "very contrasting" white borders
As far as I can see the script it is ready for use.   :D

===
For those helping me with testing the script, at line 1512 one can set the current date to any value for this year.

Also test with either the debug console (w34_module_test)  or with _test.php
https://pwsdashboard.com/pwsWD/_test.php?test=meteors_popup.php&lang=nl
Both will show the PHP errors and list the missing translations.
UPDATE:  New zip,  I removed typing error , missing translation in large texts should work
Wim

P.S., Back to the WU convert script, which needs some  documentation  #-o

Wim, you can use my site https://pendulous-here.000webhostapp.com/ I haven't had any data since 7/25. Do I need to do anything first?
I generated the graphs data-files, please unzip attached folder and put the contents in your chartsmydata/ folder
The files contains all available data from the .CSV  Most of the missing data could be loaded from the new WU-database, but not all.  2 days are still missing.

As with other users, your new WU-dashboard is missing more days for July
https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KMDBELCA3/graph/2019-07-25/2019-07-25/monthly
then in the .CSV.
https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KMDBELCA3&graphspan=day&day&month&year&format=1

Lets hope that WU will get all data in at least one of the databases correct.

I attach a "release ready version" of the convert script for users of the July version
I could test the .CSV files from about 5 users, but sadly only for 3 weather-programs. Maybe there are bugs left.

Unzip and place the script in your pwsWD/ folder
Execute the script with yourwebsite.com/pwsWD/_cvt_wucsv.php
This readme explains how the script works: https://pwsdashboard.com/readme_convert_wu.pdf

After converting your  _wuID_.CSV file,  the website files can be used for your graphs.
They are at least as complete as the combined  WU data from the .CSV and your WU dashboard.

Change the easyweather setting for which graph-files  you use.
(https://pwsdashboard.com/convert_wu_easyweather.jpg)

Do not forget to activate the w34_cron_addtoyear.php which should run before the end of each day.
You can check the documentation at https://pwsdashboard.com/documentation/WD34_cron-2019-07.pdf

Sorry, there was already 1 download but I had to upload a new and corrected version at Aug 25, 17:40 UTC

@Wim

for me it seems to me that RAIN graphs are corrupt? no  ?
example: rain / month dated 18.08: charts_graphs = 86.36mm while value recorded by the station was 8.6mm
http://seremange-meteolive.franceserv.com/pwsWD/index.php
it is this value that gives me for example the execution of the last script "WUhistory" of Sratoga
https://www.weather-watch.com/smf/index.php/topic,68013.0.html

ps./
for ID = ilorrain49 same inconsistency
charts_graph for 18.08 = 99.06 mm vs./ good recorded value = 9.9mm  #-o #-o

Best Regards

I found the reason. FYI the API returns metric in mm, the CSV is in cm.
So all rain values are 10 times higher then they should be.  :oops: :oops:

IMPORTANT
You have to remove the backup file if you run the script twice.  Otherwise the data generated in the last run is not replaced.
The backup file is stored in chartsmydata/_wuid_Y.txt  in your case  http://weather.inaogmogens.dk/chartsmydata/IDKFREDE2Y.txt

Everytime the cvt-script runs it checks if there is an already updated file in chartsmydata/  and it uses that.
So if you want to start from scratch  remove that file from chartsmydata/

===
Iran the script with your ID and it works OK
When there is only one line for wind it is the previous version which also had the rain 10* as big.

Attached:  the correct files for IDKFREDE2

Wim

Update 8:55 UTC:
I just downloaded the zip and the script from the zip is correct, identical as I use at home
Compared it with http://weather.inaogmogens.dk/_cvt_wucsv.php?sce=view   identical

So the script probably has run with an already updated backup file

AFAIK a Radio Aurora emits radio frequencies at around 150 kHz. Is it used here to suggest that enhanced auroral propagation might be possible at 144 MHz?

-Month and year rainfall chart shows some strange and very small numbers. I can't see what's showing. Maybe rainfall in inches divided by 10 ?? For example, the precipitation for August 7 shows 1.31 mm. The correct number is 33.27 mm.

I thought you were using weahterlink.com also, just as iLORRAIN102 / 49.

The graph files are converted from the .CSV  with the same units as the data from the weather-program.
WL.com is always in imperial. With WU one can choose and you are using default metric.

The files are regenerated on your site, and the graphs look OK to me.

Hi,
Just installed installed the latest version and I an not get the WXSIM for cast to work. I am using Weather Display Clientraw for real time data and that working okay. In easyweather setup I have WXSIM set for the forecast under Options for top row module 2 & 3. Is there a need to manually edit some files to point to the location of the plaintext.txt file? I see nowhere in Easyweather setup to enter the path for plaintext.txt as I do for clientraw.txt .

As @blainec mentioned in the previous post, you have to configure the original wxsim-parser script.
And you need the WXSIM windows program running and uploading also.

These are the original Ken True stand-alone WXSIM scripts, without any modification.  That way you can "drop in" a new version if Ken has an update.
And you can always test the original script,
http://newbeithweather.com/pwsWD/wxsimPP/plaintext-parser.php
and include it on a page in the menu.  :D

The only drawback is that you have to set the correct location of the plaintext file in line 133 of  plaintext-parser.php  :wink:
Code: [Select]
$plaintextFile = '../../plaintext.txt'; This default setting points to the root folder of your website ( => newbeithweather.com/ )

It seems your plaintext.txt file is in http://newbeithweather.com/pwsWD/wdisplay/plaintext.txt  Change the line 133 to
Code: [Select]
$plaintextFile = '../wdisplay/plaintext.txt'; The "../" drops the file pointer from the wxsimPP/ folder ( were the wxsim script "lives" )  to the pwsWD/ folder
The "wdisplay/" moves the pointer up into that folder so the script can find the plaintext.txt file it needs.

Success, Wim

I'm almost sorry to bother someone again, but I can't figure this out myself -

Now my template is mysterious again.

- It sometime reports offline, although w34_cron_stationcron.php is run every 5 minutes.

- Today data are completely "impossible". My chartsmydata/today.txt looks weird. When I run w34_cron_stationcron.php, data seems to be added for a completely random time, for example for a time on August 14th. Until 0:55 it looks right, then it goes wrong. Well, it must be WU sending wrong data ??

- In addition, - chart for wind month after August 25, wind strength is higher than gust

To me, that seems to be a WU problem  (99%) or maybe a problem with your API-key  (< 1%)
Debug console http://weather.inaogmogens.dk/w34_module_test.php
=>left bottom your recent data from wu   file "./jsondata/wucom.txt" is already selected, so click "List contents",
I click that  and the big box shows:
Code: [Select]
Filetime (UTC): 2019-08-28T09:10:44+00:00 which an age of 0 hrs 01 min 27 secondsSo the file is just retrieved (current file time) BUT look at the contents
=>The line with  "List this file as" click on "Expand it as json "

Code: [Select]
                    [stationID] => IDKFREDE2
                    [obsTimeUtc] => 2019-08-27T20:59:44Z
                    [obsTimeLocal] => 2019-08-27 22:59:44
                    [neighborhood] => Kvissel Braending
                    [softwareType] => WS-1002 V2.4.4
                    [country] => DK
                    [solarRadiation] => 0
                    [humidity] => 87
                    [qcStatus] => 1
                    [metric] => Array

When I reload the files with the bottom selector labeled "Load external files" and => click on "Load files",
=> the file is retrieved at Filetime (UTC): 2019-08-28T09:20:33+00:00 which an age of 0 hrs 00 min 24 seconds
And the date/time is now
Code: [Select]
                    [stationID] => IDKFREDE2
                    [obsTimeUtc] => 2019-08-28T09:20:16Z
                    [obsTimeLocal] => 2019-08-28 11:20:16

Not much what you or I can do.  Sometimes recent data, sometimes old data is retrieved from WU.
Just check if the retrieved data is stalled again, later on.
You can also use this link in your browser to check if there are error messages, replace "_YOUR_API_KEY_HERE" with your WU-api key
https://api.weather.com/v2/pws/observations/current?stationId=IDKFREDE2&format=json&units=m&numericPrecision=decimal&apiKey=_YOUR_API_KEY_HERE

Sometimes the data is invalid and the dashboard is half empty or a white page with invalid data
Can you PM me your WU API key as I always get correct data with my key.

My own key also fails. Definitely a problem with WU

Now I get this message:
Code: [Select]
{"metadata":{"transaction_id":"8838963446811046191"},"success":false,"errors":[{"error":{"code":"AKI-0001","message":"Weather Company API is currently unavailable."}}]}

. . . shortened . .
http://newbeithweather.com/pwsWD/wxsimPP/plaintext-parser.php
. . .  shortened . . .

The parser works OK now.
BUT my script expects at least 8 forecasts, yours has 7

So change the line 43 in fpwsWD/orecastWXSIMblock.php from
Code: [Select]
if (!isset ($arr_pp) || count ($arr_pp) < 8 ) {echo '<b style="color: red;"><small>wxsim file not ready</small></b>'; return;} to
Code: [Select]
if (!isset ($arr_pp) || count ($arr_pp) < 6 ) {echo '<b style="color: red;"><small>wxsim file not ready</small></b>'; return;}That check makes sure that the complete wxsim forecast is uploaded. Sometimes the uploading of the large WXSIM forecast-files takes so much time that an incomplete forecast is processed.

Title: PWS_Dashboard History in Beta version
Post by: wvdkuil on August 29, 2019, 01:49:11 PM
A "sneak preview", still working on it.
A history script only using ones own data.
Script one:
All yearly data from WU is loaded from WU and stored in a folder on the webserver
All yearly files (mostly the 2019 one) are checked for missing lines which are retrieved using the WU-API-
The updated yearly files are read to find  the high-lows for this month, this year  and all-time
All this history will have the same units as the weather-program uses
The data for temp, rain, humidity, dewpoint, pressure, wind, gust coming from WU are stored in 1 file chartsmydata/history.txt

The station-cron job updates the history.txt and will also add UV and solar if the station uses those sensors.

The addtoyear-cron will move todays values to yesterdays values
The empty-cron will clear the month values (every 1st day of a month) and the year values (every Jan 1st).
It should also save 3 monthly backups and 3 yearly backups.

ToDo
Live-data script should use the history table for missing fields with some weather-programs
Write a script to update the history when f.i.  there are errors in the WU data.

Demo history script:  https://www.weerstation-herent.be/pws07/  => in the "Current Conditions block" bottom area.

Beta: will be available September 7, including history and all updates so far.

$blck_ppp [$script][]   = array ('show' => true,      'popup' => 'rain_popup.php',    'chartinfo' => 'popup',   'text' => lang('Rain radar') );
I think it was already discussed, but maybe on the dutch forum.
It is a copy of the webcam pop-up, adapted for a rain-radar image

Hi Wim

(Doh!) I have just noticed a little more information in the October requests post... Please ignore the following if you wish however it would be good for more detail on the setup. I suspect the NexstormNG software maybe the route to take...I am quite happy to be a tester if needed...

Another question please. I have just re-installed my Stormtracker PCI system and it is now running. I see that we can use the output on the template. I have searched but cannot find where to find or generate the NSRealtime.txt file. I have the old version of nexstorm (v1.9) running. Would it be better if I have the new NexstormNG software instead. Will this give better and more meaningful data?

Just love the template, is there a way to send a few "beer" tokens to thank you for your efforts?

Cheers

Jon

In my chart for wind today and wind month:
Since August 26, winds and gusts have been swapped.
The ./chartsmydata/today.txt file also appears to have swapped values.

Data received with
https://api.weather.com/v2/pws/observations/current?stationId=IDKFREDE2&format=json&units=m&numericPrecision=decimal&apiKey=_MY_API-key_
looks real.

Is this something I can fix myself - and possibly how?

Thanks for finding this error, which occurs only for stations who get their data from WU.
And use their website to store the graphs data, as you are doing from August 26.

Documentation (mostly current for beta also) at https://pwsdashboard.com/  includes now the beta download link
=>  http://pwsdashboard.com/hws_download2019.php?id=betatest
The download will start immediately and the zip can be found in your download folder.
Unzip and upload the pws??/ folder to your webserver.
DO NOT upload the scripts to your current  pwsWD/ folder

The index.php will detect that setup need to run first.  Password for easy-weather setup is 12345.
Or copy the w34_settings1.php from your current pws folder first

Extra weather-program supported: WeatherFlow (WF) in native mode
The WF users who upload to WU could already use the WU version.
But that WU version is not yet using the all-new history file for missing data.
I am testing that feature with the WF version first.

IMPORTANT
To fill the history table you need to use all three cron-jobs.
Current dashboard version only uses two
   w34_cron_stationcron.php  => every 5 minutes
   w34_cron_addtoyear.php  => every day at 23:55
but you need also
   w34_cron_empty.php  => every day at 00:10

There will  small missing / errors in the documentation as I changed a lot of scripts in this third version.
I will finish latest updates this week and then update all documentation.

17:00 CEST . . . removed premature announcement . . .

no particular problems for the template installation
may need to review .css for layout modulesadjusted and updated blocks version
for charts and storage of historical data : if not bother to copy the "chartsmydata" folder to fill the table ...?

1. Maybe: The permissions for those files are strange: 750 ?  => probably not the problem, see point 2
2. Maybe: Caching for the text files as they seem to be updated at 3 september 23:55   => the file-timess were modified at the correct time ?

Also check the demo for weatherflow https://pwsdashboard.com/pwsWD/
The data coming from WeatherFlow for stations in your area had only wind values of 0 (zero).  Now theres seems to be some wind.
To have the min max values for all weather items you need to run the crons.
But it seems that the station-cron is not updating correctly, I have to setup a imperial testsite to test what is wrong,

I ran a test with your latitude/longitude, units, WF-ID on a fresh download , with the correct livedata scripts.
Every 5 minutes I ran w34_cron_stationcron in the browser.
It updated correctly the history file, so the min-max values are updated.  See attached screenshot.

At your  site, the cron sas it is updating the history,  success files loaded + history recalculated  but it seems that the file is not . The file is empty, only n/a values
https://www.shermanctweather.org/pws09/w34_listfile.php?file=./chartsmydata/history.txt&type=arr

Probably there is a problem with the permissions/ownership of the ./chartsmydata/history.txt  file

I added more debug messages in the script, please unzip and upload the attached script

Thanks, but I really do like these problems.  Thank you for beta-testing the scripts so others can use them also.

I attach a new version of station-cron, I think it will clear the errors from the history file.
If not we have to remove the history.txt and let the script generate a new one.

=== For your information:
The weatherFlow-api only delivers current values for the weather-items. So the highest and lowest values for today and other periods have to come from the history file.

That file is generated and kept correct by the station-cron.
That script can not look back in time,  from today the history starts with today's values.

When the history is correct  for a couple of days, we will run a script to load all history values from your WeatherUnderground data.
But first the updating of the history should function correctly.

Why is there no orange wind direction arrow on the compass when the wind is due North?

Is it the conditional "if ($dir <> 'n/a' . . ." again?

Looks like it. . . I commented out the conditionals (for direction and average) and got the arrow back. I presume the fact that the arrow is not quite at "12 o'clock" is a rounding artefact?

Could we start a new topic for the new beta version, so July version problems don't get swamped?

I updated the livedata script and that corrected the temp readings, so they are all imperial now.

Barometer block is not following the "inHG" format even though it says it is.

Also, not sure I understand the Top Wind block. Is that for just the last few minutes or another time frame? I thought it was for the top gust for the day, if so it does not match the weatherflow data. Nor does the history pop-up show the correct data. w34_cron_stationcron is updating every 5 minutes. The main wind block does not have the proper gust either. I also downloaded the newest stationcron.php mentioned in message #341.

The advice to run empty cron 10 minutes in the new day was because some weather-programs upload previous day data after 00:00

As the data AND the crons come from WD, there will not be old data uploaded after 00:00, I think.
The only real problem is with rainfall, that should be set to zero every new day.

The livedata was updated twice today as I made a typo.  That will remove the inHg conversion missing. I attach the script.Yes it is for the day.I can not find if the WF-api data for wind is in m/s or in  km/h
Could you explain what is wrong and / or  to what other data I can compare the api data
Wim

The second livedata.php update corrected the barometer problem.

The wind question was - the top wind block and the main wind block show incorrect data. my wind gust was 19.4mph at 11:55, but the blocks show 16mph at 11:51. The history pop-up also shows 16mph at 11:51. Also do not understand how the wind and wind gust can be different values at the same time. See top wind block attached.

At this point everything else is looking good. http://scannorthcounty.net/pws09/index.php (http://scannorthcounty.net/pws09/index.php)

I think this version is not the right one for a WF-owner such as you.  You are running other templates also and a 24/7 weather-program.

This WF version is meant to be useful for WeatherFlow owners who
1. do not run a weather-program 24/7   => if one uses MB or WD to get the data from their WeatherFlow, they should use another version of PWS_Dashboard.
2. AND do not upload to WeatherUnderground.   => frequent uploading to WU should give more accurate data, better use the WU version of the Dashboard.

They have to accept the consequences of not having a real 24/7 weather-program.
The PWS_Dashboard gets the WeatherFlow data every 4 to 5 minutes using thisURL
https://swd.weatherflow.com/swd/rest/observations/station/2167?api_key=_API_SETTING_

The data returned from the WF-server is a snapshot for that moment without min-max values (except for daily rain and lightning).
Weather data such as temperature and pressure do not vary that much in 4 minutes.
The max-wind will be "nearly" reached quit often during a day, as it is averaged to every so many seconds/minutes

Highest wind-gust can be a "problem" that is a "part-of-a-second value, can be a one-time happening with a large difference between the highest gust and the next one.
The snapshot of 11:51 => wind-gust  16.x mph , snapshot 11:56 probably missed the 19.4mph of 11:55
Those measurements we are discussing here are from yesterday and they are removed from the today.txt, therefor we can not check the "log"

Increasing the data retrieval  rate to every 1 or 2 minutes does only slightly  increase the chance to just catch the "higher" wind-gust-speeds.

===
There was another problem with the small wind/gust block, I attach an updated version for the livedata script.

===
Thanks for testing this beta-version,

Wim

My weatherFlow hardware is completely separate from my Davis weather software, at any rate the lack of immediate feedback of data is an issue for me with the wf template and the pwsWD template. I will continue to follow and update the the templates as needed. Thanks for your comments on the templates.

@ALL Could you please always include the URL=link to your website? Or put that link in your forum-profile

With an URL/link I can check what is going on without waisting my time asking for more details.
What is the problem with the graphs?
Are you using WU or your own data for the graphs?

Yes, this is a problem with WU.
They return
"old" (until Aug 29) data for the year  https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IZAVAT1&graphspan=year&year&format=1
empty data (only a correct headerline) for the month: https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IZAVAT1&graphspan=month&year&month&format=1
and correct data for today.

Where all those other data lines come from, it looks like a 404 page and links to http://api-ak.wunderground.com/

Better remove the  ./chartswudata/IZAVAT1YM.txt  and ./chartswudata/IZAVAT1Y.txt  files
The files will be reloaded then,

Wim

I report a possible bug. In the temperature box, it is the second time that it marks me as minimum zero degrees, but the minimum was 8 degrees.
The bug seems to be in the https://www.meteocamporamoso.it/pwsWD/demodata/realtime.txt
There is an extra space between the "time highest temp of 8:54" [27] and the "temp low of 8" [28]
As it is a space separated file, all fields after [27] are shifted to the right.

This is the realtime.txt of 08:55:02

The daily graphs data comes from the temp data itself., not from the temp-low data.
So every packet to WU only contains the real measurements for that moment.

Do you know how I solved ???? I switched from the upload method of the realtime.txt file to the weatherlink 2.0 json API method. I pushed the wifi logger to load the data every 2 minutes. So much ws weatherlink I have a pro account, why not use it ???? For graphic designers we are obliged to use WU or we can use something else. ?? Now that I use this loading method, uploading realtime.txt via ftp to my site, is it useless?

OK, you have a choice and you choose  =D&gt; =D&gt;

You do not need to use WU for the grpahs.
If they get their act together and all data would be correct and available, you could stay with WU.

If they really will stop the .CSV yearly download, you could switch to using your own data with the cron-jobs.
It is a choice in the easyweather-setup, see attached image

No upload needed, you can use only one source of data. That is now wl.com

Choose "use your own data for graphs"
Set station-cron every 5 minutes
And add-to-year cron at 23:58

You start with a clean sheet with only the data from today.
But there is a script "_cvt_wucsv.php  " you could run to generate "your own data"  from the wu year file

Put it in your pwsWD/ folder, run it yourwebsitename/pwsWD/_cvt_wucsv.php
check if graphs are OK, delete the script

Yes, as there is a WU file for this year, but only until
Code: [Select]
2019-8-18,28.1,20.6,13.1,19.4,16.4,12.2,96,76,57,1018,1016,19,2,19,0.00

but I don't have the daily and monthly ones, did I do something wrong?

There is a month file, but as there is no data after August 18,  the September file is empty. add-to-year cron will add one line every night to those files.
The daily file is generated by the station-cron only

I see no problems when I run it for
1.  your wuID and
2. use my wl.com password

So attached the files for chartsmydata/  solely based on your WU data and which should work with your wl.com account also.
Please let me know if anything is wrong with those files, i can then try to find it at my debug site.

I would like to ask you some other things.

1) Why not give more info on the weather of the nearest airport ???

2) Regarding air quality, it connects automatically to the nearest station. The data is always correct and up to date, but why instead of indicating the update time, it shows me Offline?

3) When and if you make changes to this spelndido template, loading the new version, will you lose the graphics that are created with the cron-job?

You can inspect all files yourself using the debug console https://www.meteocamporamoso.it/pwsWD/w34_module_test.php
This is  the best link to that file https://www.meteocamporamoso.it/pwsWD/w34_listfile.php?file=./jsondata/gov_aqi.txt&type=json

3) When and if you make changes to this spelndido template, loading the new version, will you lose the graphics that are created with the cron-job?

No, and one should ALWAYS make a backup.
Install new version:
1. unzip on your PC and rename the new pwsWD/ folder to pwsNEW/
2. Upload to your website and test the new version.
2.1 copy the my-data folder from pwsWD/ to pwsNEW/ if you want. Do not copy any old scripts, only the w34_settings1.php
3. When all scripts in pwsNEW/ are OK, rename pwsWD/ to pwsOLD/ and pwsNEW/ to pwsWD/

That way you can install a new version step by step and never loose anything important.

If there are any file changes, there is always a conversion program to copy the filecontents.
