Title: Foscam RTSP streaming with VLC - works!
Post by: dan43 on January 08, 2018, 02:46:32 PM
Hi all, I just got my Foscam FI9900P camera streaming with VLC on my website.  But, it only works with IE.  Firefox and Chrome do not work with this, but this IS the code:

<OBJECT classid="clsid:9BE31822-FDAD-461B-AD51-BE1D1C159921"
     codebase="http://downloads.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/latest/win32/axvlc.cab"
     width="640" height="480" id="vlc" events="True">
   <param name="Src" value="rtsp://username:password@192.168.0.125:88/videoMain" />
   <param name="ShowDisplay" value="True" />
   <param name="AutoLoop" value="False" />
   <param name="AutoPlay" value="True" />
   <embed id="vlcEmb"  type="application/x-google-vlc-plugin" version="VideoLAN.VLCPlugin.2" autoplay="yes" loop="no" width="640" height="480"
     target="rtsp://username:password@192.168.0.125:88/videoMain" ></embed>
</OBJECT>

This helped me a lot!  I hope someone can use this code!

PS - if you want to stream it outside your own network, just provide your external IP address instead of your internal address.

Cheers,
Dan

Though I don't have my new camera mounted outside yet, could someone give this a try in IE and let me know if streaming works?  I'm behind a firewall at my office, so I can't get to it from here.  Right now it's just sitting on my computer desk pointing at the CD rack.  As soon as it stops pouring rain here (ha!), I can get it outside and set it up.

Thanks!

Working here. Nothing is moving, but the time is running. Sure wish Foscam would get their cameras working in more than IE.

Cheers

Nothing is moving because no one is home, haha!

But thanks for testing!  I agree, Chrome and Firefox need to bring back their support for RTSP streaming!
