WD Questions / Re: Rainfall data from wx.html

It's OK... I think I've worked it out... If I put the drop down list of months as the final item in the array it seems to work OK I think. It was that which was causing the issues.

The acurite station rain bucket tips every .254mm. Hopefully that is the info you're after. I've had a fineoffset before and that tips at .3mm

WD Questions / Re: Rainfall data from wx.html

OK, I've now tried this but haven't quite succeeded.

My wxlocal.html file is simply a list of pipe (|) delimited custom tags. e.g.
%date%|%time%|%gstspd%|%dirlabel%|%maxgst%|.......

There are over 200 tags in total and  I've now added a few more custom tags to it so as to start adding some more rain data to my website.
This is uploaded to my server as wx.html at which point WD replaces the tags with the appropriate weather data. From here, the getraw.php file creates a useable array from the wx.html file so that I can address the individual data within the array.

This all seems to work, except for the fact that the new customtags that I've added today are appearing in the array as the custom tag name, rather than as actual data. I've created a very simple file to show me the data withint his array. You can see it here: https://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/dbdriven/home/ws_array_places.php

As you can see, all of the data is there as expected, except for the last few items in the array which haven't been converted to data but just show the tag name.

Any ideas as to what I've done wrong? I even added a duplicate %date% custom-tag to my wxlocal.html file which is also the first custom tag in the list. As you can see, at position
  • in the array this date comes out as expected, but at position [241] it is showing as the tag name rather than the actual date.

I'm sure there's a simple explanation, I just can't find it at the moment
Thanks,
Alan.

WD does show extra resolution for weather station types that make that available (e.g weatherflow or campbell scientific)
so I can add that ability for other stations too
what though is the accuracy of the rain gauge (mm)?

WD Feature Suggestions / Rain to 2 decimal points

Good Evening,

Just a small request if possible, I now have an Acurite 5-in-1 weather station, it reports the rain measurements up to 2 decimal points. Is it possible to have the ability to show it on WD? I know you have it for inches but I use mm

They rolled out a site re-design in the last few hours  8O  Shared hosting is now https://www.mddhosting.com/support/cart.php?gid=24

So, is this link you pasted the actual Shared plans that I would want? I thought you said they did away with Shared.

When clicking on order it is saying ďout of stock.Ē

Some timing for me....canít say whether itís goodmor bad. I was going to jump on board.
According to this, Cloud hosting over Shared will give an overall better performance.

So, the real concern is how it will deal with continual FTP updates?

My VP1 is still going OK now for 13 years, OK not in a particularly harsh environment. I'd expect a VP2 to work at least as well.

Thanks Ken. I put a .htaccess (AddDefaultCharset iso-8859-1) file in my Apache 2.4/PHP server on the weather station computer (local access and testing) and that worked. The station web server is a LightSpeed server and I had to open a ticket but it was quickly resolved.

Most disconcerting! Before signing up with them I would ask if they are planning to continue shared hosting.

Update: I contacted support. They are going to (their own) cloud hosting replacing the old shared hosting plans. I asked specifically about wx sites with continual FTP data updates and the response is "We run a few sites that do just that so it shouldn't be an issue."  Not sure what to tell you. They certainly treated me very well in the past but it would be a hassle to change again if the cloud thing doesn't work out :dontknow:
