105°F + next 10 Days

To start off the Summer Solstice with a bang (actually that is tomorrow)…

We have about 13 days, 3 past already and 10 coming of 105

The people of India are probably used to it, but they have had to endure temps of 122F (50C) in some places recently - I think I would fry in that heat!! :frowning:

In New Delhi at 1am local time it is 102F (39C) - OUCH!!!

http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/42181.html

i wonder what their dew point is…thats the real killer, the dew point (forget the humidity, thats only relative

according to Wunderground

New Delhi dewpoint is 61

We don’t have that temperature anytime, however, it is in the upper 80s to lower 90s. I see where my wife is out east, 50s to 70s . Boy she is in for a climate check when she returns later this week.

Iowa has the humidity with that temperature so the THSW gets to be a bit much. Right now it is 88.6, 46% humidity , and THSW of 104. I am not sure how that compares with the desert dry heat.

But that temperature is impressive out there in AZ.

Kevin, that must really stink to be getting those temperatures so early in the season.

Invite a few ducks 8)

Acutally, I wish the entire summer were like this. Notice the Humitity is only 9% and the Dewpt 39

Yeah, the humidity really gets to you! I already recorded a dew point of 77 degrees F 8O!

Record for today is 111

With temperature like that, beware of the neighbors when they throw carrots, celery and other veggies in your pool, when you are in it… hmmmmm

The problem with hot weather in this area, storms crop up real quick

  • AT 720 PM CDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING PENNY SIZE
HAIL…AND DESTRUCTIVE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH. THESE STORMS
WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 11 MILES EAST OF HUXLEY TO
COON RAPIDS…OR ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 22 MILES NORTHEAST OF
DES MOINES TO 54 MILES SOUTHWEST OF FORT DODGE…AND MOVING SOUTH
    AT 40 MPH.

  • SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE…
NEAR GUTHRIE COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT BY 735 PM CDT.
NEAR DES MOINES MORNINGSTAR AIRPORT BY 740 PM CDT.
NEAR WINDSOR HEIGHTS BY 745 PM CDT.
NEAR DES MOINES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT BY 750 PM CDT.

7:45? I think I will go outside and see how close they are.

Aardvark, the storm doesn’t even look like it’s really going to hit you…it looks like it’s starting to die down. Be careful!

windy now, it might miss, but we will get the wind, some limbs down and some asshole in a sail boat on the lake capsized, so the fire rescue are heading to get them pulled out. Out of the water, but their boat is a bit swamped.

Here? we are fine, I don’t think we have much to worry about other wind and maybe some lightening, But still nothing matches that 112F temperature. At least one good thing, coffee would always be hot.

hey ardvark, you might want to adjust the width and height in the html code for this web site for some of the images
http://home.mchsi.com/~dsmweather/Trends.htm
(actauly just remove the width=, height= html code

Now it definitely looks like it is going to miss you…losing some of its intensity.

That’s really sad that someone would be out in the water right now…

Your right about the 112 degree temps…I don’t think any other extreme weather could compare to that - only an earthquake caused by the turtles and the ducks .

ah… see I told you there were things stranger than me?

HTML code… looks fine here, Brian… Get a bigger screen. Gee… I get WDL figured out and the lad is off in a new project. Sheesh…

Yep, the storm looks like it is going to be er… windy… which is fine. We will get ours later and now I have to go rescue the ducks, aardvarks and turtles out there…

Be careful…don’t go out on a boat

what i mean is that html code to show some of the images has the width and height commands larger than the actual image width and height, and so the image looks stretched and not so good
so by removing the width and height commands, or setting the width and height commands correct for the image size, it will look alot sharper

ok… I can do that. and while I am doing this ( you have to provide your own music interlude)
After getting all of the Pope’s luggage loaded into the limo (and he
doesn’t travel light), the driver notices that the Pope is still
standing on the curb.

“Excuse me, Your Eminence,” says the driver, “Would you please take your
seat so we can leave?”

“Well, to tell you the truth,” says the Pope, “They never let me drive
at the Vatican, and I’d really like to drive today.”

“I’m sorry but I cannot let you do that. I’d lose my job! And what if
something should happen?” protests the driver, wishing he’d never gone
to work that morning.

“There might be something extra in it for you,” says the Pope.
Reluctantly, the driver gets in the back as the Pope climbs in behind
the wheel.

The driver quickly regrets his decision when, after exiting the airport,
the Supreme Pontiff floors it, accelerating the limo to 105 mph.

“Please slow down, Your Holiness!!!” pleads the worried driver, but the
Pope keeps the pedal to the metal until they hear sirens. “Oh, dear God,
I’m gonna lose my license,” moans the driver.

The Pope pulls over and rolls down the window as the cop approaches, but
the cop takes one look at him, goes back to his motorcycle, and gets on
the radio. “I need to talk to the Chief,” he says to the dispatcher.

The Chief gets on the radio and the cop tells him that he’s stopped a
limo going a hundred and five.

“So bust him,” said the Chief.

“I don’t think we want to do that, he’s really important,” said the cop.
The Chief exclaimed… “All the more reason!”

“No, I mean really important,” said the cop.

The Chief then asked… “Who ya got there, the Mayor?”

Cop:“Bigger.”

Chief:“Governor?”

Cop:“Bigger.”

“Well,” said the Chief,“Who is it?”

Cop: “I think it’s God!”

Chief:“What makes you think it’s God?”

Cop:“He’s got the Pope for a limo driver!”

That’s a good joke, aardvark! Well I have to go for the night…I will talk to you guys later.

Take care.
