Fixed!
Thank you Brian, I need to slow down and look at what I'm typing #-o

As For Hosting, you should drop Ryan a line and ask. He might take offense if I just assume too much.

Kris, doesn't work for me...get error loading configuration.

Has this changed?

ok folks... I'm in negotiations with my upstream provider to move to my own dedicated server. Then you can run WDL to your hearts content :)

The only down side is won't have free accounts on it. Even though the free accounts are capped pretty low the shear volume ofthem adds up quick!

I will come with a custom package for weather hosting as it usually requires less diskspace space and more bandwidth.

I should no tommorow sometime I'll keep you all posted.

I think from now on I'm going to go back to using my old username on here "ryan"

Ryan,
Will we be able to move and/or modify our existing accounts to take advantage of this new arrangement? I would be happy to exchange some of my unused disk space for more band width, just a thought/hope.

Ok folks everything is in place!

I've consolidated all my hosting ventures into one. http://8clams.com You can subscribe monthly or pay for a year in advance and get two free months!

I setup each account manually now for the safety of all of us. I will email you after payment to request your account settings. When I do this please let me know if you will be hosting WDL and/or MML content or regular WD content so that I can put you on the proper server.

No account will be suspended for overage of quotas!  The only time an account will be suspended will be for non-payment or a gross threat to the server and/or other subscribers. This doesn't mean unlimited access, it just means I will work with you to provide a fair solution for both of us.

A little about 8clams.com:
I have my "office in Queensbury NY. I have a weather station in Chestertown, NY (http://adkweather.com) that provides weather data to adkweather.com site, wunderground, hamweather, and CWOP.

I have two servers at a first class datacenter in Florida. It's the old us.ibm.com headquarters! One server is my own dedicated server where I will host the WDL accounts. I'm in negotiations to also host a firenet server. For those of you not familiar with firenet, it is part of the CWOP, but provides much more information then the standard APRS-IS internet system. Most notably METAR RAWS Weather buoys, Public Statements and much more. The second server is a shared server where many of your accounts now reside. This will be maintained for non-wdl/mml users and other users that don't need the "high use" packages.

Well hopefully I didn't burn to many bridges with my first failed attempt! This dedicated server is what  Ishould have done to begin with I guess.

Thanks again!
Ryan

What is the status of the "paid" accounts that were on your other host?

All you need is Time, Aptitude and Desire ... and you can build just about anything...

Well when it rains it pours :( My computer at home has gone to computer heaven (http://blog.tourge.net) So I'm sahring the laptop and that s slowing things down. So far the new accounts on the dedicated machine are working very well.

I just installed the Zend Optimizer package so if anyone is doing their own php work that will help (it's available on both servers)

Should be back online tongiht!

You can purchase your own WD licence by installing WD and then following the instructions. Help with getting WD working is best requested via the Questions board...and make sure you mention what type of weather station you're using. I don't think there's a station called 'MikesWeather'

I need help.  I have read the previous messages but who offers a great hosting service for WD, WDL, Ambient, MML, and Weather Flash.  My current host say that I have ASP but not PHP.  Wouldn't you know it, they can upgrade my account to include PHP for an additional $5.00 per month.

Anyway, which hosting company are you using for your weather website and do you recommend them?

Gulf Shores Weather Net - Weather Gumbo for coastal Alabama.
