Although, I have not teamed up with Brian, (as hostweather has) I can offer the same deal for Weather display users on one of my servers. (my full time livelyhood is hosting and websign for large companies)

I already have a number of weather display users on my servers that are running weather display live and in fact my own is located at  http://brantfordweather.ca and I update every 3 seconds.

Here are a couple of weather display clients that I personally helped set up weather display and weather display live to work.
http://www.arnoldweather.com
http://northdeeringweather.us

I am not trying to get Ryans glory here in being the only "accredited" service, in fact, I have been reading and the hostweather service has been problematic and if Ryan needs any help in configuring his server to work better let me know and I can see what I can do to help.

If anyone would like to try my servers, please let me know.

If you do not have your own domain name I can offer you a sub domain. I also give personal phone support, I will even phone you to save  you the phone bill)  (north america only) at no additional charge to get your server and weather display and weather display live configured and working.

I made the offer more than 6 months ago in this forum and at that time Brian said it was a good deal, however, I did not ask him to affiliate with him on it. I may ask him if he wishes to accredit my service as well since it has been proven to work.

If I can be of any service to anyone let me know.

Thank you.

Gary W Dumbleton

Cheers,

Gary W Dumbleton

By the way, I will not cap the quota's for weather display clients. My quota arrangement with my peers is very good.

I repeat I WILL NOT CAP QUOTAS FOR WEATHER RELATED SITES (WEATHER DISPLAY LIVE AND WEATHER DISPLAY SITES). That is no limit of bandwidth for weather display sites!

I'm glad someone has stepped up to offer a service that will allow WD Live. In all honestly I never really used WD live that much so I guess I didn't know what it is capable of or how it worked. Hopefully this will be the solution for you WD Live users. I trust gdumbleton is spreading you guys across his several servers to lessen the load. That and unlimited storage/bandwidth is a luxury I don't have at this point.

The probelm I had early on was with the subdomain accounts and a misconfiguration on my part. Real domain names where not effected and the subdomain accoutns work great now.

So now WD users have some choices for their webhosting! No more yahoo or geocities or any of that other crap!

Hi
sounds great Gary :)
I too have people here in NZ using a web server I have ( I have it for the world pay service), for free :)
Note the teaming up/affiliation  only involved a link on the WD web site and postings on this forum

It was not the case that WDL wouldn't run, the problem was that Ryan's hosting company was getting very upset about constant ftp activity. Has that issue now been resolved? If so that's good news and worthy of an announcement  :)

Kris, doesn't work for me...get error loading configuration.

Please note that this service is not suitable for hosting Weather Display Live.

Has this changed?

Dan,
not sure why, I've got it open in another browser right now. I did try an open it at work, we're running our own server, and it wounld'n load there either, but works fine at home and at my folks house. We both have Verizon, may or may not make some sort of a differance. Anyone have any ideas?

there is an extra  /  in the html code, which fire fox will not like
<EMBED src="wdlv4_02.swf?http:///www.n9ukesweatherpage.com/wdlconfig.xml"

which needs to be fixed
