No rain data since August 1st [solved]

That does not work at all. It does nor record any data at my end. Starting Weatherdisplay from a terminal gives me

ending in a segementation fault.

I am back to 301 now … which seems to work as desired besides the problem with the rain data. Not sure if this plays a role here … yesterday I noticed a memo on Meteoware Plus, that they changed something … unfortunately I didn’t pay attention to it … :?

are you starting WD as sudo?
i.e
sudo ./weatherdisplay

No. It worked as the user that I am before …

not sure what that means
have you tried running it as sudo?
also try sudo chmod 777 weatherdisplay

Ok … I will try that …

Did both … nothing changed.

I still get the “sh: 1: wdisplay/./cronnetatmo: Permission denied” and the problem with rainb data persists.

try changing the permissions for cronnetatmo

Ok … that made the “permission denied” disappear … wiull have to hope for rain now to see if data is recorded again.

After returning home from work today I noticed, that Weatherdisplay307 terminated sometimes during the day. Restarted it from a terminal, everything looked fine. After a couple of minutes Weatherdisplay terminated with a segmentation fault … staying with 301 for now.

so the build 301 version runs OK?
i wonder if its still a permission problem (I have re uploaded the latest version to see if that is fixed)

Besides the rain data not being recorded/stored/whatever … it works on my end.

I think it might be a permission problem, since I cannot update raindata manually via “View Panel/Raindata”. I can enter daily rain data, but it’s not stored. The only thing I can store is the correction for the month …

try the latest update and see how that goes re permissions

Ok … I am back at 307 … so far it runs ok …

Now wdisplay crashes randomly with a segmentation fault. Back to 301 …

does it crash at a certain time?
i could try compiling it with the compiler version that 301 was compile with

Nope … sometimes it crashed after several hours, sometimes after 5 minutes.

if you could email me the settings files
WDISPLAY.INI
and
wdisplayftp.ini

then I will test here

I have re compiled with the last compiler version in the latest update on the WD page for you to test

I will have to try one more thing during the upcoming weekend, if that doesn:t work I’ll send You the files.

This too has to wait until friday … then I can monitor what is happening. It’s a bit difficult for me during the workweek.
