March-like storm to blast California
« on: May 13, 2019, 07:18:52 PM »
Whoa!  Our rain season is supposed to be over by now.

Quote
March-like storm to blast California with drenching rain, mountain snow and severe weather

After sunshine and pleasant weather grace California early this week, a powerful storm system will barrel into the state during the middle to latter part of the week.

The return of a March-like weather pattern, driven by a large dip in the jet stream, will be the culprit for driving this rare storm into the West Coast.

May precip is a real crapshoot here, either virtually nothing or close to an inch. Local TV tonight says we'll get more than an inch from this storm :dontknow:

Queer weather is not just in CA. CY has also had its share. Normal rainfall at this time from 1 Oct about 380 mm. This year 540 mm and it went on-and-on from January to about 2 weeks ago. This week: spring-like with temps up to 35C, normal for the first time! Climate change or just freak weather???

I see some media are calling this an "atmospheric river" but it's not impressive so far. Ken 0.11", Harry 0.09", and only 0.04" for me.
