CWOP vs findU
« on: May 12, 2019, 08:13:30 PM »
A station EW7114 has been showing up on a local weather map with temps that are obviously incorrect. I guess it's showing locally because of its location as shown on findU but CWOP/Gladstone shows it being in Utah - I think that's correct.

I'm not a CWOP'er. Can someone help me understand what's going on here  :?

EW7114>APRS,TCPXX*,qAX,CWOP-7:@120145z4018.00N/12224.00W_355/001g009t063r000p000P000h33b10105L....DsIP

Because thats the lat/long the station is sending CWOP...

FINDU shows his location as:
Latitude: 40 22' 29" N (deg min sec), 40.3748 (decimal), 4022.49N (LORAN)
Longitude: 112 25' 43" W (deg min sec), -112.4285 (decimal), 11225.71W (LORAN)

Based on those numbers the FINDU (112W) location should be in Utah, and CWOP (122W) should be showing it in CA, but the reverse is true  :?

CWOP identifies the problem.  I guess you would have to ask Philip on the mix up.
