Today rainfall reset to 0 if pc is rebooted

Hi,
I have WD set up to get data from Weatherlink.
The Today rainfall is reset to 0 if the pc running WD is rebooted.
WD 10.37S93
Davis Vantage Pro2
Windows 10
Kind regards Reidar

do you exit WD gracefully before you reboot the pc?

Hi Brian.
I’m not 100% sure, but i think I did it last time.
I have had raine to day, so i can test.

/reidar

Tested, gracefull exit of WD, waited a couple of minutes.
Shut down of pc
Restart - today rainfall data gone.
I notice also that the “MONTHLY CLIMATOLOGICAL SUMMARY for APR. 2019” report also misses rain data for thos days when this happens.
Note its only the rain data that is affected temp etc is correct.
Console shows Month Total Rain 11.6 mm

are you running WD as administrator?

if you could email me your settings files, I will test/check here

Hi Brian
WD is running as normal user. This problem occured after I swicted from davis usb logger to ip logger.
Settings on its way

does the problem happen if you just exit WD via save and exit and then restart?
I will test here

I see you have WD set to get the data from weatherlink.com (and not direct from your IP data logger)
which is good because I am able to test with your settings and get your data

the issue is not only related to a pc reboot, but also a restart of WD
and is fixed by going to control panel, data logger , and turn the switch off there then click on OK
(the issue is with trying to get history data from weatherlink.com, that is not working anymore with the version 2.0 of weatherlink.com by the looks)

That solved my problem
Question - if I stop wd for a cople of days, will WD receive historical data from Weatherlink?

/reidar

it used to be able to with the original WL 1.0 version api
but I am not sure how to get historical data with the vers 2.0 WL api

Hi
I had to update weatherlink program to 6.0.5 and replace user name with device ID (DID) and the password you use for WL 2.0 access in the comms setup. I use this as a backup of what my weatherlink ip console sends to weatherlink

yes, but that is not the issue here (username being replaced with the DID)
