I’ve tried to get this working and it appears it is not getting the data from the port. I have it set to WS 2310 and I’m set to Com port 1 and tty S0. Software is 32 bit WeatherD.tar.gz 32 bit ver 10.37 lb 53.
don@don-desktop:~/wdisplay$ dmesg | grep tty
[ 0.000000] console [tty0] enabled
[ 2.851213] 00:05: ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4, base_baud = 115200) is a 16550A
don@don-desktop:~/wdisplay$ ls -l /dev/ttyS0
crwxrwxrwx 1 root dialout 4, 64 Apr 19 14:25 /dev/ttyS0
don@don-desktop:~/wdisplay$ ls -l WeatherD
-rwxrwxrwx 1 don don 121132164 Jun 30 2017 WeatherD
If I try any other setting other than ttyS0 the command window will show errors. Setting it to ttyS0 and it shows no errors but I’m logging no data.
By the way I found out that I had to create a new password for ROOT to use the chmod command and a straight install of Mint 19.1 does not tell you what the ROOT password is. That requires you to do a sudo Passwd root and it will ask for the new password which you input once then again to verify it. Once I did that I could set the RW settings for both the ttyS0 and WeatherD via the chmod command
Also in the Linux Weather Display manual you talk about downloading WeatheDLinux.zip. Is that still needed and if it is where is it?
