Whenever I use the HTTP download feature on WD, it seems to save both the file and keep the previous file. I feel like this is meant to happen for animations, but is there a way to make this optional?
WD version: v10.37S88

yes its to create an animated gif
but it should be any problem having those files
Gotcha. I’ll just make a script to clean them up once a month. Thanks for clarifying for me!
but why do you need to do that?
they are not like going to keep on getting more and more files
they get overwritten
they are only hour/minute stamped
not day or month or year stamped
According to the screenshot they aren’t overwriting, it’s generating filenames:
webcam.jpg
webcam.jpg1
webcam.jpg2
Just tested and confirmed that it works the same way for me.
:?
yes, but there is a limit
the number does not go up for ever (goes up to around 12 by memory)
and then the number starts over
so it overwrites again
Confirmed, overwrites after 6 files (.jpg5 is last)
