WXSIM 2019 build 1.0 Run-time error'9' subscript out of range.

For no apparent reason, I get the above error. I searched the forum and tried to fix it with the answers listed there. No luck.

any ideas? It was working ok for a while.

Thanks
H

Got that too yesterday.

Here is a video showing what is happening, pretty much straight after starting processing it goes to error 9. Manual start seems to work, but the forecast is off (in my humble opinion).

Hi,

I think it is better to mail Tom those files after it happened: custinit.txt, rgcode.txt, localdat.txt, localcal.txt, wxsmini.txt, wdata.txt, cty.fdt, fdata.txt, and cor.txt,
He always askes for that files so he can try to reproduce it.

Hi

Im having same problem with run-time error 9 in WXSIM - see attached. It just started last night.

Any suggestions?

Kind regards,
Henrik

Hi

Any news about this topic?

The error dissapeard by itself - but has returned today.

Kind regards,
Henrik

OK, I think I know what this is (at least I know what a similar issue has been in the past). When I do the customization, I like to assign as many advection sites as I can, but my arrays are dimensioned only to 48, so if it tries to grab more than 48 surface advection sites, it generates this error. I always test to try to avoid that possibility, but a few times I’ve missed something, and some extreme curvature of the flow will pick up the extra sites. The solution is for me to (at no charge, of course!) deletes a couple of your advection sites, in the offending direction and flow curvature. I don’t want to do it at random, though, so its best to send me cty.fdt, rgcode.txt, custinit.txt, localdat.txt, localcal.txt, wdata.txt, and latest.txt, as they6 are right after the next time you see the error. It’s a very “chance” thing, so it may not even ever happen again, but if it does, just send those files and I can fix it for you.

Oh, by the way, I see WXSIMATE is version 7.0 in the video. 7.2 is out, and it probably matters, becasue of a lot of URL changes early this year, so I recommend upgrading with www.wxsim.com/wxsimupg.exe.

Thanks!

Tom

Hi Tom

Thanks for your reply.

I have sent you the needed files.

Kind regards,
Henrik

Looks like Henrik’s problem was exactly what I thought, and I think I’ve fixed his cty.fdt file. If anybody else sees a subscript out of range (error 9) in WXSIM, please send a screen shot of the error message AND the background, and the cty.fdt file, and I can probably fix it quickly.

Tom

I am getting a slightly different problem

and just can’t figure it out
