WXSimate import local data incorrect

Hi all

I have a problem in wxsimate with the import from the local data.
My weather station software is Weather Display.

After the import I see that the 7 and 30 day precip is much too high.

Here a screenshot

When I do the import in wxsim I get an error message extraordinary precipitation

I looked at the units but I cannot find whats wrong.

Somebody who had the same issue??

Sorry for the big screenshots. Could not find to make them small here.

It’s almost certainly the choice of units, either for display or in the log files. Under Customize, find the precipitation units in BOTH “units for display here” AND in “units in WD or Cumulus log files”. I think you want them in millimeters (?). By the way, if you are using km/hr as units for display, you should choose KNOTS (I know, strange but true!) for the units in log files.

Let me know if that takes care of it!

Tom

Thank you for answering.

I looked at the units in wxsim.

In Weather Display they are the same as:

Do I have to reset all the data? Is this old data

I cannot find the problem.

Hi Arjan,

It’s the units in WXSIMATE I’m talking about, not in WXSIM. Under Customize in WXSIMATE, there are the “units for display here” and the
units in WD or Cumulus log files". Set both of those. There’s probably a discrepancy there. Let me know if that takes care of it!

Hi Tom

I meant wxsimate. The units are equal to WD units.

After I unchecked this:

it worked. Why?? This is not a unit settings I think.

The precip is working and for me ok now.

The wind is 0 kmh.
The unit setting is in WD and wxsimate in knots.

That is the only problem for now.

Can you send me the files wxsmini.txt and custinit.txt? I want to check the units in all places. You shouldn’t have to uncheck the boxes in WXSIM, but I do want to make sure the problem is corrected first.
