That will be it - the PC does it by itself.
Not bad though - it hasnât corrupted in over 9 years!

Iâve had to rebuild the data files to make data display correctly.
This has mostly worked but my daily report data has been stripped here and no longer shows all of January: http://217.199.187.197/otronics.co.uk/Weather/January2019.htm (it was showing the month so far).
How do I rebuild this page?
Also, how come some other reports are showing 2019 data for days that havenât happened yet (see attached)? How do I correct this?
if your logfile is OK
then you should be able to convert the logfile to data file
and that should correct the reports
I gave that a go earlier and it corrected some graphs.
Can you provide a step-by-step guide of what I should do so I can double-check please.
check the actual log file is OK
first
12019lg.txt
then go action, convert WD logfiles to data files
select that file
then click on convert
Also, you can try click on the âRecreate the last 31 days graph dataâ button after the process Brian explained above.
Hey there budgie, long time no hear
Been lurking, Brian, just havenât had much time to input on here. Too busy with work these days. #-o
I hope youâre all keeping well down there and that the Summer hasnât been too hot & dry?
summer has been a real mixture here
Australia has been breaking heat records left right and center though
Thanks both.
Almost there - the Daily Report has been fixed.
The two images attached though are still showing odd results - days in 2019 that have yet to happen and no data for other days that have.
if the logfile is OK
then that should be all corrected
have you checked the logfile?
.zip and email me that
Hello.
At first glance it seems OK.
I will email the log now.
Thanks.
All sorted.
Many thanks.
Hello again.
I have another question about correcting rain data but first, I think there is an issue with the âAverages/Extremes/Reportsâ viewer.
I select a day/month/year and click âView selected day nowâ but the âRainfall for monthâ and âRainfall for yearâ are always the same.
See the images attached.
you are right
its designed that wayâŚin a wayâŚ
the data source (the data file) does not actually store the month and year rain total (the logfile does)
20 years ago pcâs did not have as much memoryâŚ
Is there a way to fix that?
A couple more things to tidy up:
See attached (the Climate report). I have a couple of days with dashes (missing data). How can I correct this?
I need to correct rain data for some days. I did this but the value returned to 0 after a day or two. Also, when I did correct it, it didnât update the annual rain total or the rain data on the Climate reports. How do I go about this?
Thanks.
If your log file is correct
Then try converting that to data file
Re q1
Re q2
You can set the needed year rain total
Under control panel, offsets and initial rain
Re/ those dashes in the attachment above - they are due to data missing in the logfile. Not sure why. All backups are the same. Can I download the data from my Davis Vantage Vue?
If I update rain data (daily/monthly/yearly) will it update everything, ie/ pages like this: http://217.199.187.197/otronics.co.uk/Weather/January2019.htm ?
Iâm using Offsets and initial rain for a day in January. I canât correct the day I need to. It always corrects the next day instead of the one I want it to. Any ideas?
Q1, no your davis station only holds limited data (does depend on your data logging interval (which you have not mentioned))
Q2, basicly, yes (but for last months data you will need to set that months rain total via view, rain chart, then re update that report for that month)
Q3 , that sounds like a problem with the data
you donât mention which version/build of WD you are using though
