NOAA downloads

Not sure what I changed, But now my NOAA forecast will not download from the NOAA.
I can use test and everything works. I have removed the file, Re-added it cleared all the times and redid them.
Saved and restarted but still it will not download the file. I must of changed something but can not figure out what I have changed. I must of turned something off or on depending.
I do have the NOAA forecast download on, I checked the url and it is correct
General ftp functions is on Using setup#1 I have tried all 3 setups. Verified my local file name all is correct.
What am I missing?

post a screen shot of your settings is best

Here are some screen shots
They are attached.
If I use Test everything works.

tested here, set a time to auto download
and it worked
Logging onto FTP server…tgftp.nws.noaa.gov
changing directory to /data/forecasts/zone/nh/
Next file ftp down
Local directory for Noaa download is
Retrieving the NOAA file nhz008.txt now
Saving the NOAA file to C:\wdisplayprogram\nhz008.txt now
Finished ftp download, loggin off from server
Doing abort procedure/program close…

maybe try setting the time to download different to other ftp functions time you have set

JUst changed the times to download. Will see how that works in the next hour.
I am at a loss to figure out why it will not work.

So far no luck in getting it to download.
Might be a registry entry corruption.
It seems like the timer is not working.

K1ded

Looking in the registry I see some weird file path’s
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\wdisplayftp.ini\Grouped file to use]
“name1”=“C:\wdisplay\nhz008.txt”

To me this should be c:\wdisplay\nhz008.txt (without the double back slashes)

I also see some of my other files are not uploading.
This maybe correct, Brian might be using the path this way for a reason

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\wdisplayftp.ini\Files extreme new]
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\weekrep.htm”=“”
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\weekgra.gif”=“”
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\percentdir.gif”=“”
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\raindetail.gif”=“”
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\dirplotmonth.gif”=“”
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\January2019.htm”=“”
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\yesterdaygraph.gif”=“”
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\48hourgraph.gif”=“”
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\72hourgraph.gif”=“”
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\monthtodate.gif”=“”
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\dailynoaareport.htm”=“”
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\windrose.gif”=“”
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\dailynoaareport12019.htm”=“”
“c:\wdisplay\webfiles\climatedataout.html”=“”

the double \ are not normally a problem
is there any error in WD under view, program event log?

No I do not see any errors. It appears to download from the NOAA is the problem.
I see the old file is being uploaded. It seems like the timer to download from the NOAA is not working.
Will investigate more. I cannot see any log where it tries to connect to to the NOAA.
I have readjusted the times will see if that helps.

Still will not download from the NOAA tried different times. No errors.
WIll continue this tomorrow, Its late here on the east coast.

I have tried using 1 hour download for NOAA forecast, Still does not trigger the download. The upload is working. I took the URL in WD and it opens to the correct forecast page. There is no log due to the fact the timer is not triggering the download to begin. I have everything turned on in NOAA forecast download. If I click on test it works.
tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/data/forecasts/zone/nh/
the file name is nhz008.txt
If I do it using filezilla it works.
What am I missing?
I must of changed something.

email me your settings files and I will test /check here

Where do I find the settings files?
Do you need a reg file also?

there is a FAQ here on the forum about sending me your settings files

HI

I notice you had not tried what I suggested

i.e to add times to download that are different to any other times

e.g say at 3:37pm or similar

via the manual set an hour and minute

try that…setting a manual time a few minutes from now that is not on the half hour or 10 minute mark etc
(works here with your settings)

I had tried that and it was not working to I went back to the way I had it.I will give it another try.

that is odd as it worked here with your settings
is there any error under view program event log?

does the ftpupd.exe program run when you manually set a time for the noaa download to run?
and if so what then shows in the ftplogull.txt file?

Brian,
All is working again, I had to set some weird times to do the NOAA downloads. All running right for over 10 years.
Not sure what changed. But all is well now.

Thanks
