sun/moon eclipse tag

Your entry is correct, I wasn’t suggesting otherwise.

Niko

Oh no I didn’t mean anything negative. It was just I was confused by the 10 hour thing and wanted to make sure I had it correct. Thanks for looking at it.

MikeyM

the code I use it looks like I need to reverse the sign on the time zone
use new .zip update, ready now
it should be OK now
I also have azimuth and elevation working for the sun and moon now too

Cool

Thanks Brian

Time looks good. Not sure what the azimuth and elevation are supposed to be showing?

Cheers

MikeyM

The sun alt and azi are not correct. Should be alt 23 deg and azi 208 deg, but showing alt -43 deg and azi 80 deg.

Those values did match up OK when I
Tested here but I will do more testing when I
am back home in 48 hours
I suspect it’s a local time problem

Hi folks!
Just for info that moon eclipse data have now correct time: 21/januar/2019 06:12 (Local) 120%. At 06.12 is beginning of totality.

CS Marco

try build 88 .zip update, ready now

I am updated to latest version but same condition, moon eclipse seems to be OK but no data for solar eclipse…
CS Marco

I suspect the new routine does not look too far in the future
what I can do is change the date into the future until a date shows up
what is your lat/long?

at least I got the azimuth and altitude for the sun and moon working correctly now

Thank you!

Cheers

MikeyM

OK, done that now, (and for the moon data)
try a new .zip update, ready now (and I have removed the /)

Brian

Looks good! Thanks!

Cheers

MikeyM

now that the newest moon eclipse has past I had a bug in the code for picking up the next eclipse
that is fixed in build 89

Next Lunar Eclipse: “— —” Worked for a couple days, them started showing the dashes Saturday. Not sure the eclipse is visible in Phoenix, have heard nothing on the local news.

I really don’t understand this either.
It was perfect then I got the dashes also.
Moon eclipse of Januari 21 06:13 has yet to come.
Latests build 89
Moon eclips says now July 16 22:31 65%

I fixed that, download again

thanks, Next Lunar Eclipse: “January 21 2019 05:12:29 120%” saw the NWS report on twitter this morning mention the eclipse but gave a mostly cloudy forecast. Almost never fails, any thing remotely interesting happening that I even think of dragging out my telescope it clouds up.

Happens for me every time with meteor showers
