dailynoaareportsmmyyyy.htm and Degree Days error?

A long slow process as I move to a win10 based system. Today I was reviewing my large collection of the noaadailyreportsmmyyyy.htm and found a problem in my reporting of heating / cooling degree days, seems to have started around Mar 10, 2017 or so.

In previous reports it seems as it gets hotter, the figures for heating degree days are shown in the heating degree days column, but suddenly, as the temp increases, they’re now showing in the cooling degree days.

Wondering if there’s a bug, or an update I missed or what?

Currently WD 1037S B66 running on an XP/SP3 system, slowly moving to a win10 Based system.

Would some please help me out and point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Ken

From a quick glance, I did not see anything wrong with your degree day data.
Your degree days are based on a 65 degree base. If the value in the avg temp column of your climatedata file shows 70 degrees, a value of 5 will show in the cooling degrees column. If the avg temp is 60, then a value of 5 will show in the heating degrees column.

Thanks Murry,

after dinner and grandies off to bed I’ll take another look - and find some reading material of exactly what they are, how they work, what they’re used for etc.

appreciate the response
