Wing Gust Issue from METAR
« on: November 27, 2018, 11:50:58 PM »
Hi, on my weather station I dont have my Weather vane up right now so I'm pulling the wind direction and speed from my local airport Metar.
My Weather watch software is taking the metar info and displaying the gust as the wind speed

Is there a setting or something I can change so the metar wind speed isnt showing the gust as the normal wind speed?

Thank you....

not sure you have posted this Q in this section on the forum

the metar provides a mean windspeed reading only most of the time
(gust data is only provided if the gust is 10 knots higher than the mean windspeed)
so its a bit confusing what you are saying

What I mean is if the Metar is reporting say 15 MPH winds with Gust 25 MPH,
my station & website will show the wind speed at 25 MPH and Gust 25 MPH

Does this make better sense as to what I'm trying to describe?
