The Chandler Burning Index is not widely used for ‘official’ fire danger prediction anymore as it only relies on temperature and relative humidity. It’s likely that it will not match an official pronouncement since they use much more complicated formulas and other data items (not normally available on PWS systems) to make the judgement for the fire danger.
