WD and Cronweeatherflow - Solved

Hi we had a mall drop of rain yesterday 2.9mm but Cron version 1.5 only recorded the rain rate and not the accumulated amount.
Also WD did not record any rain at all
WF station ID 4664
regards

try a new update

OK I’ll let you know how it goes next time we get rain…few and far between

I will test here too (we expecting rain here on Tuesday maybe)

good luck we have a 50% chance of a small amount today but will be lucky to get any at all

Hi Brian thanks for the latest update, that did the trick although it did not register the same amount as WF
WF 1.6mm
WD 0.63
Rain guage 0.9
So I guess if we use the rain offset in WD it will be OK and when WF is finally calibrated it will be much better

it should be the same as WF , as long as WD was running all the time since the start of the rain total (i.e you are comparing apples with apples)

certainly am but will have to wait until the next rain event to do a double check
as you probably know we are having a very dry year and rains are not common, anyway some more expected this week will keep you informed

nice light rain here today but its not showing the same on WD as it is on WF its not updating properly

Hi received rain yesterday by WF 4.3 mm, rain recorded by WD through cronWF 0.189
I think it is recording in inches even though I have it set to mm in WD as the conversion (4.3mm=0.169") is not the same but very close
Could this be possible and is there an easy fix that I can do myself?

Is the other data that shows in cronweatherflow in metric?
Are you sure you are using the latest versions of WD and the cron program. I did update the full Linux install

Yes updated with the latest version 296 on 21 Sept Cron version 1.5
Yes everything else is in metric and recording OK

is the rain amount in the separate cronweatherflow correct?
the more information you can provide the better

No there is not rain total in the cron at all. the only rain that showed up in cron was in the last reading where it shows 3 decimal places for rain and that did look like rainfall rate not total, when it stopped raining that column went clear. There is a column space above that which has only – and nothing else i.e reading from the top we have … e.g 0.0 C, 0 %, 0.0 hpa, 0.0 m/s, 0.0 m/s, 0.0 o, 0.0 w/2, 0 uv, —, 0.000 mm. Is there something missing between uv and rain and with metric do we need 3 decimal places in rain?
I have sent some attachments of WD, Cron & WF on my post on Oct 3 apart from that I’ll have to wait for the next rain event to send you another update, hopefully some time this week
Regards

yes, that many decimal places are needed as the rain sensor is very sensitive
one thing, is your WF Hub raining the latest firmware update?
also is it vers 1.5 of the WD cronweatherflow program?

what I can try/test here is to tap the guy wires to cause false rain to test here with my WF station

the missing data , the — , is just the time…I had not added in the code to convert that to local time (its in UTC time), that is all

I think the problem is WD linux version is missing the rain
the rain data is a kind of rain rate, that comes from the WF sensor
I will try increasing the freq of reading the data

that looks to have helped a lot here in testing
download a new update, ready now…

thank for the explanation on that, yes running cron version 1.5 and yes the hub is the latest update
I will download the update and let you know how it is performing when we get some rain
Regards

P.S. I apologize for the extra workload that you are getting

a small rain event this morning WF 0.6mm WD 0.1mm
