Missing Data on Graphs After Crashing

Hello.

Very occasionally, my server crashes and I have to restart everything.

Say the PC crashes at 11:00 and I restart it at 17:00.

My weather station is still logging data during this time, but the Weather Display graph will not regenerate the ‘missing’ data on startup (so the graph jumps from 11:00 to 17:00).

Is there a setting for this?

Have a look at the You Tube videos Brian has made - there is one specifically on this. Recreating graphs from log files or something similar. I

Is it this one?

The bit you want is from 1 minute 30 seconds to the end.
Let me know if you are still stuck

Thanks for this - is there a way for WD to automatically fill in the missing data after each crash?

Not that I know of - it would be pretty difficult to determine what is correct/incorrect. Humans are better at this stuff  “I’m sorry Dave I can’t do that”

What weather station do you have? WD should get missing data from stations that have a datalogger (e.g. Davis VP2 or Vue). If no datalogger then unfortunately data will be missed when the computer/WD is down.

I have a Davis Vantage Vue with datalogger (connected to my PC via USB).

I’m not sure if missing data is filled in, but the WD graphs certainly aren’t.

When WD starts after the crash, do you see the popup window where WD is retrieving missed data from the datalogger?

No - a popup window doesn’t appear.

In WD go to

control panel → data logger

and check the switch is set to ON

Yes - data logger is set to ON.
