Older Version of WD

I have an older version of WD (Ver. 10.37R Build 62) that has operated on an Acer laptop with AMD Athlon II X2 P340 in the past. I believe the last time the station was on was in 2014. I know its hard to predict, but if I upgrade WD to the newest version, can I still operate with the old dedicated laptop ? Thank you for your help.
