WD defaults to wunderground format file when using Ambient/Weather ranger

Hi Brian,

I recently replaced my WS1001 after the temp/hydrometer failed a few months back - am now using a Ambient WS1401-IP - essentially has the same outdoor array but the internal receiver is just a blue box (ObserverIP) with no console - some more detail here if you are interested -https://www.ambientweather.com/amws1400ip.html

I am using the Ambient/Weather Ranger station option in WD with the link to my ObserverIP http://[myIPaddress]/livedata.htm, the box checked next to “Use Direct from this IP Address” and the box for Wunderground format (uses ws1001.json) UNCHECKED. This seems to work perfectly. WD then grabs correct data directly from the ObserverIP. However I find that whenever I need to restart WD it always defaults to checking the Wunderground format box - which means I have to jump in and manually unset each time otherwise I then get bad data input into WD.

Is it possible to fix this so the box stays unchecked on restart if selected?

I am using the latest version WD 10.37Sb72

Kind regards

Ian.

I discovered also that I was not properly detecting if the station was not set to metric either, I have fixed that now too

Hi Brian,

I noticed tonight after we had 15mm of rain here in Ellerslie that my WD was showing it as 754.6mm (!)

I have all the config set in the ObserverIP set to metric, but according to my calcs it looks like the WD code is possibly reading in the raw rain data (15.3mm), and then converting from inches to mm? - can this be fixed? Its the first time its rained in days so I had not noticed this previously.

Regards,

Ian.
