WD freezing

Hi,
It’s been a while without any problem…
Yes but… since about four weeks, randomly but about every
3-4 days max… WD freezes.
Two only ways to put it back in business.
1-) If lucky just … Control pannel/Real time client FTP… “Start now” does the trick.
2-) Less luck… Have to restart WD from scrap.

Brian, I see you coming… but please do not ask for the view/program event log
It just gives a white page… nothing recording here.

Thanks for any suggestion/help.

your #1 just runs the clientrawrealtimeftp.exe program

where are you noticing that its freezing exactly?
do you mean on your web site?
or the actual WD program?

Hi, Thanks for the answer.
The #1 does exactely what you say and that is why it sometimes
puts everything back in business.
#2 I first see that the website is no longer updating every 3-4 seconds,
I then the connect to the PC where WD is running. Two possibilities there,
a) data is being received correctly from data logger… #1 option works OK.
b) WD is completely frozen and I have to restart it.
#3 view/program event log NEVER working

Thanks again, regards.

2 things going on then
first is that for some reason the clientrawrealtimeftp.exe is stopping, yes?
do you have ticked, restart instead of re login, in the real time ftp setup? (try setting that)
the other problem is likely to be a driver problem
try updating the silicons labs usb driver

also make sure windows is not powering down the usb (e.g selective suspend…I do have a youtube video on how to set that)

Hi thanks again.

first is that for some reason the clientrawrealtimeftp.exe is stopping, yes?

Ouppppsss. Sorry, clicked Post instead of Preview

first is that for some reason the clientrawrealtimeftp.exe is stopping, yes?
Answer: YES
try updating the silicons labs usb driver...

I have NO specific USB driver besides the original ones that are part of W7
Data loger is Ethernet (RJ45)

And also, why is the Program Event Log page always white, zero, nada, nothing???

Would a possible solution be to update to the latest version of WD…?

Thanks, regards.

Hi,

WD has not freezed again for 3 days, let’s way & see…!

BUT the Program Event Log page is still NOT working.
That could lead to a real problem one day or an other.

How to get it back in business…?

Thanks, regards.
