It did it again.
Should I uninstall and reinstall?
Should I not use custom screens?
Should I not use the webcam and time-lapse features?
I don’t understand why the program has been working fine for almost 10 years with nothing changed, and now it’s having errors with the custom screen and opening the jpegwebcam.jpg file out of the blue. (well for a couple months now) The out of system resources error baffles me since it apparently isn’t out of system resources, at least not when I’ve ever looked at it. It doesn’t even come close to hitting the max on anything any time I ever look at it.
What can I do to fix this?
Please forgive my frustration. I don’t know what to do about this constant problem.
its possibly related to a windows 10 update/change
if you monitor weatherdisplay.exe with task manager, i,e the memory use, any clues there?
you could always set WD to restart daily
Hello,
I’ve found that WD (v10.37S72) freezes/crashes on me at the moment but it all comes good when I restart it…it seems to have happened since the last windows 10 update on the 14/5/18, couldn’t find anything in that update that could be causing a bit of conflict. I did notice thought that Adobe flash player did a security update on the 14/5/18 is this a possible source of conflict?
I’ve had it set to reboot the computer twice a week. I’ve now changed it to just restart WD every night.
One thing I notice is that when I have it set to restart WD, the WebCam capture program doesn’t close, and it opens a new instance of it, so there are two (or maybe more if I don’t check it) every time WD restarts. Is there any way to prevent multiple instances of that running after a WD restart?
Thank you, I’ll try this and let you know if it works.
Same here, since the major spring update (Win10) WD will hang, i have just gotten into the habit of restarting it daily now, where can i set it to restart on its own please? i cannot find it
re wdwebcamcapture.exe
that is the latest version
what I will do is make sure that exists better when WD is restarted
(see in the ftp/internet setup, reboot) @BWX,it would be good if you could provide more info, like, how often this happens etc
I didnt pay it much attention Brian as it didnt bother me, i knew it was the windows update so it was my fault, i just started to reboot it every day and left it at that, i only replied to ask how to set WD to reboot automatically as i cannot find it
Thanks ever so much, didnt think to look in there.
I have just done this again now without issues this time, i noticed in the history that SL updated the drivers during May, looks like they have fixed what ever issues i had, thanks Brian, PS, i tried updating via the device manage but it failed with regards to an inf file, so i had to do it manually, downloading from SL
2 Days running and it crashes, well, not so much crashes, but it stops all data upload, wd is still getting data from the davis, but i cannot view any icons on the View screen but i can click the buttons, the wind dial disappears from the main screen, i cannot however close WD, not even from the task manager, this was why i resorted to just rebooting WD and it only ever happens during the night, WD only used 270mb out of 8gb and it only started after the spring update.

I have not forgot to let you know, what i did was forget to turn off the auto reboot, its up to 66500 data count @81mb used, it would normally hang or whatever it does tonight, being the 2nd night, but i will give it another couple of nights if its ok tonight, then let you know.
