I’ve got WD on a computer that is approaching 14 years old.
XP was installed Sept 2004.
The HD drive would be slightly older but i would think it is now 120000 hrs old.
How are other users going ??
That reminds me, I need to check the integrity of my backups. I’m on my third primary WD computer now, but failure can occur at nearly any age. Backups have saved my data and programs in the past, and I hope they will in the future. Computer failures will occur, it’s just a matter of when.

I find that I get reports of PC failures from people either in their summer or winter
i,e extremes of temperature (i.e the pc might have got too hot or too cold?)
The computer is in a constant AC room, connected to a double conversion UPS, the room itself has a HEPA air filter system as well…
I have 2 other computers in the same room, with the same age …
that is telling
PC’s do not like temperature extremes
