WD Locks Up when Clicking "View", "Averages/Extremes Noaa Style Rpts. - RESOLVED

WD is “locking up” when I click “View”, “Averages/Extremes Noaa Style Reports”. The blue Windows"spinning circle" keeps spinning and I have to do a Windows Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up Windows Task Manager and close WD and then reopen WD. Also, the same “lock up” occurs if I click “Action”, Update Averages/Extreme on Internet Now". Also, the daily “day end” climate upload scheduled at 12:09 am has not updated for the past 2 nights.

Any ideas? Running WD 10.37S62, Windows 7-64. This problem just occurred 2 days ago. During that time period I do remember doing a couple of “Windows Updates”.

Thank you.

Cheers,

Jeff

Most likely it’s opening off screen
And so there will be a setting
I am not home currently, but will check on that when i get back

Thank you. Anxious to remedy this as the daily climate data is not uploading to my site. I appreciate your help!

Update: Brian, It’s 11 pm EST now and I’m calling it a night. I’ll check on the forum tomorrow. Thank you.

check in the
wdisplay.ini settings file
for
[Main avextreme]
last avextreme setup width=
last avextreme setup height=
last avextreme setup top=
last avextreme setup left=

and delete those settings
when WD is not running

I shutdown WD, deleted those 4 settings which were “1616”, “876”, “-8” and “-8”. I then saved the “wdisplay.ini” file and restarted WD. The program still hangs (locks up) when going to “View”, “Averages/Extremes Noaa Style Reports”. Also, when I look at “wdisplay.ini” after deleting those 4 settings and saving the file, they are “missing” (haven’t been replaced). So I reset those 4 settings back to the original values.

Last night I tried this fix and got the same results.

Also, once again, last night at 12:09 am the climate data files would not upload and WD locked up. I had to restart WD this morning.

it must be something else then
if you could .zip email me your settings files
and your data files

I am away for a couple of days
so you need to get me this information asap 8O

What are the file names?

there is a FAQ on how to send me your settings files

for the data files:
month12018.inf
last31daysdata.inf
and then also your logfile
12018lg.txt

you could do a test:
when WD is not running, renaname your data files folder and logfiles folder (temporarily) then restart WD and see if the problem persists
just to narrow down where the problem is

I just noticed that there is a gap in the 12018lg.txt file

Brian, I’ll work on this while your away. Maybe I’ll have some good luck …

the trick will be to narrow down where the problem is

I think that I resolved it. I imported the data file for January 2018 from WeatherLink and then converted the new WD “12018lg.txt” file to a data/graph file and it appears resolved. Will see how things run tonight.

Thanks for your help …

Cheers!
