Alert Email

Hi

i’m running WD10.37S Build 58 on a Windows 2012R2 server.

i’m trying to get it to email once the temp hit 40deg but it’s not emailing.

i can see the alarm but nothing is happening.
i’ve confirmed my smtp details and they are correct.

i’ve checked to make sure the Main internet button is on as well and it is.
if i send a test email it comes through fine.

any help would be appreciated

thank you

Hi
is the main internet switch on as well under control panel, ftp/internet setup?

Hi Brian

yep that option is on as well.

i have 2 emails setup - 1 for the morning and one for the evening with the weather results that do get automatically sent out so i know emailing does work - it’s just not triggering from the alarms.

is there an easy way to trigger an alarm to get an email to send?

yes try setting a lower threshold i.e below the current temperature what happens when you click on test?

Hi Brian

yeah i’ve been playing with that all morning - changing the values.

i went through every option in the app 1 by 1 to make sure i haven’t missed anything - and also closed off and restarted the app and made sure to run it as admin as well - all with the same results.

you can see the alarm has triggered again below - but no emails.

i cleared all the log files in the applications directory so i could try and catch if there is an error but nothing is being reported

the email is sent via the
wdwarningemail.exe
what shows in the file

sentwarningemail.txt ?

nothing is populated in the sentwarningemail.txt or the ftplogfull.

if i run wdwarningemail.exe manually the system will populate the txt files and send the email warning like it should.

it’s like the main app can’t call the wdwarningemail.exe to send the email. but there are no other logged issues that i can see.

hummm
that’s odd
if you could .zip and email me your settings files (see the FAQ on how to do that), I will check/test here

also try restarting WD to see if that resets things?

yeah done the good old reboot with the pc and app with the same issue.

i’ve emailed you the zip file of the configs

cheers

I will have a look tomorrow

I have sent you an email and a screen shot of a setting you need to have on

build 62 should fix this issue hopefully
