Temperature and Dew Point Offset with 10.37S60

  • WD version 10.37S60
  • Davis WM II w Rain Gage
  • Dell XPS9100 running Win10 Pro, 64-bit, Intel i7 2.8Ghz, 8GB RAM
  • Windows Defender Security Center for AV, with CCleaner monitoring

Back on 12/2 at sunrise an offset showed up briefly (for about 20 mins) in temperature and dewpoint (first figure). Tonight (12/4) at sunset, the problem reappeared, but now seems persistent. Coincidence that it appears at sunrise/sunset? I don’t know. But another interesting thing is that the desktop WM II console shows the correct temp/DP, which is about 20

I did fix a problem with the temperature reading from a Davis WMII
so try build 61?

I installed Build 61, but the offset in temp and DP (+20

Behaved most of today then, around 18:20, had a hiccup and is now offset +25

I captured some raw data coming into the computer, and I believe the correct data is coming in:

Example Packet:
06 01 97 02 AF 00 07 46 01 1D 5D 13 30 5F 21 00 00 AD 88

I don’t have the ‘key’, but I spent some time trying to decode it. I believe the outdoor temperature is represented by the digits in positions 5 and 6: “AF 00”. Which, since LSB is first, is 0x00AF = 175, or 17.5

what I will need to do is capture the raw data in the format that WD uses
and so I can see what is going on

Is that something I can do for you?

yes
if you tick
log the raw data
under setup, advanced/misc
then when the problem is occuring
email me the file
rawultimeterdata.txt
from where WD is installed
and what the temperature should be

Fixed! (Thanks, Brian)
