A series of Pacific storms will bring heavy rain, mountain snow, and strong winds to much of the western U.S. this weekend. In the Olympic Peninsula, rises on rivers and streams could result in localized flooding. Also, strong winds are expected, with gusts to 75 mph through some mountain passes, and to 100 mph over the Sierra ridge-tops. Snow is also forecast for high mountain passes Sunday.
