working IP cam, not working in WD

I have a computer which I upgraded to win 10 pro from win 7 with a plan to replace one of the weather computers if they fail so is not used yet.
I have just installed wd on it but not run it, I then installed the reg and ini files off the computer doing the movies for my site and put the revised wdwebcamcapture program on, when I double clicked the wdwebcamcapture.exe it opened ok and had connected to my camera even though wd was not running. I also tried it on my win 10 home laptop without wd and it opened ok without any settings.

Hope this is of some help

I shutdown WD and tried running webcam exe by itself as someone else mentioned…and I got a pop up telling me the program was blocked and did I want to add an exclusion, so I did and now it runs. Must be my anti-virus program protecting me.

I have other software that monitors all my cams and I can tell you it’s working just fine. I started the new web cam exe around 10:40 and WD managed to grab 1 image. It’s been running over 2 hours and that 1 image is all I got. Preview fails 100% of the time and the cam is up and running fine.

Not with 10.05 version, all I get is a black screen from the cam.

From what I can gather about digest auth, once the client and server connect and share the “key” is shouldn’t be necessary to auth again as long as the connection stays active. The webcam locks out after a handful of failed attempts so that may be why the connection is being lost.

what I could do instead
is
use a HTTP download of the image from the URL you enter
and then load that file into the program

OK,that does work, I can get the picture (from Dan’s port forwarded cam) to be downloaded via http get

Initially it wouldn’t connect to the cam. I just ran it again to grab the preview text and it connected to the cam this time.

What I am now seeing in the preview text window says it is grabbing an image. But, the image displayed in webcam capture is not changing from the initial image grab, and the save file is not updating on my harddrive. Other than the static image being displayed it appears that version 10.28 is running along happily even though no image update is occuring.
