Im seeing that in the realtimeclient program.

With nothe other log info between the log offf attempts?

It just happened. This is what was in the realtimeclient before I just restarted it…

that is very different information that you have provided before

its very hard to know what is what and when and why

Its the same information as i posted on page 1 of this thread.

yes, but its different to what you posted just prior
which makes it all very confusing

so the problem is that the login does not complete sometimes randomly and the program gets stuck/hung up in that, yes?

try
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/clientrawrealtimeftp.zip

I see what you mean. The 2 posting’s is what shows up in the client program. I’ll take a SS next time. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, that’s what it seems like.

OK… Loading it now. Thanks

It’s up and running. I’ll let you know either way how its working.

Thanks Brian.

I managed to see the problem occur here
(i.e where the login fails and then it just repeats to logout every 5 minutes)
after I set the restart to every 5 minutes
try another update download and I will run here as well

vers 9.8 up
should be better (same url to download)

I think you should find that version 9.8 fixes this issue

Thanks for looking into this Brian and making a quick fix.

Over 24 hours and no issues. Thanks again.

Hi Brian & Mark,

Have the same issue as mentioned in this topic I think. Nothing changed in WD but in the last weeks every day it occurs at night.
This is the log from the real time clientraw ftp last night:

Close with cross don’t work.
Close WD save and exit.

RT CR FTP won’t closed and I must reboot the computer and also WD than RT CR FTP works for about one day.

I will try realtime clientraw ftp version 9.8 and let you now if it works for me.
Thanks for the update

Peter.

Hi Brian,
I too had the same issue where the clientraw.txt would stop operating after exactly 24 hours. I am NOT running sftp, but rather just passive uploads to my web server. There isn’t any error messages and in fact, the icon stays in the taskbar, but does not upload and no upload arrow. If I just mouse over the icon in the taskbar, the icon then goes away. I can restart the clientraw uploads via the real time client ftp menu without having to reboot the program and it will run for another 24 hours.
I have downloaded 9.8 and will give that a shot and let you know how it works out. FYI, this is happening on two separate weather station computers and as I stated the stoppage of the clientraw upload program happens almost exactly every 24 hours.

Mike

@stantomj
that sounds like a different issue
(where the program has actually crashed)
do you have to restart instead of re login? try setting that
but also does the problem occur at a certain time?

Yes, I have to restart rather than re log in and it seems to happen between 6am-7am EDT. I usually catch it when I come to the work computer at 6am and reset it them so that is why I mentioned the 24 hours… I then look on my website and see the uploads stopped occurring around 6-7am.
It did not start until the latest changes in the Clientrawftp program earlier this week.
Regards,
Mike

so its only crashing for you at a certain time of the day?
the changes I made were only for if using secure ftp and it was to do with the log out

I would need to be able to reproduce the problem you are having to be able to see what is going on

Well, after installing 9.8, the clientraw uploads have been running nicely well past 24 hours on both computers. I don’t know what the problem could have been, but seems to have fixed itself with the 9.8 version. Thank you for listening…

Take Care,
Mike
