Brian,
I installed the update, for now nothing.

FTDI should be OK.

If you have a multimètre check the voltage on the MB pin 3, the voltage corresponds to the distance measurement and will tell you if the MB is working.

Quote
Pin 3- Analog Voltage Output: This pin outputs a single ended analog voltage scaled representation of the distance.
This output is referenced to the sensor ground and Vcc. After the ~50mS power up initialization, the voltage on this pin
is set to a low voltage. Once the sensor has completed a range reading the voltage on this pin is set to the voltage
corresponding to the latest measured distance.

Also I would use a programme du terminal like Realterm to test the MB independent of WD. In Realterm set Display to ASCII, and Port to the port number you are using, 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, with one stop bit.

I'm sure Brian will get this working, but it would be good to be sure you have a good MB.

have you clicked on connect (and set the needed com port number) in setup, misc...snow depth tab, Maxbotix setup?

Bonjour Niko,
J'ai bien suivi tes informations ; le capteur réagit lors d'un branchement avec un appareil de mesure.

Maintenant reste à savoir pourquoi ça ne fonctionne pas avec WD ?

Serge

Bonjour Serge

Did you test with the programme du terminal ?

OK, merci, so it's clear for Brian:

Serge has tested the sensor's analog output and it is working normally.

the screen shot of the settings in WD shows a different com port that the test software screen shot though

In the terminal program screenshot? That's just a port that's on my laptop, Serge didn't test with a terminal program, he only tested the analog output. According to the maxbotix doc it should just default to sending serial data, but it would have been nice to test that independent of WD.
