Which Front Page Design of Mine Do You Like Best?

I’m into wide, so which one of my wide front page designs do you like best? Both have been around for several years:

  1. http://stillwaterweather.com
  2. http://stillwaterweather.com/wx/2ndhome.php

Also my non-wide design at: http://stillwaterweather.com/3rdhome.php

Thanks for looking!

Since you ask, #1 doesn’t scale nicely, this is on a 1366 wide screen.

I was afraid of that. To adjust that problem push Ctrl and + or - key at the same time. Other people may see the columns spread too wide apart. Once adjusted properly, I like no. 1 best. Yeah, I know probably a lot of visitors don’t know that fix.

Here’s how no. 1 is supposed to look:

Number 2.

My guess is you think it’s a bad idea to use wunderground’s flash stickers on weather web sites.

Just my opinion, but I think #1 looks cluttered. And it doesn’t display correctly on any of my 3 devices.

I agree.
My opinion: http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=25136.msg300628#msg300628, just a suggestion

That’s the nature of weather sites. People want to know the forecast, how the current radar looks and current weather conditions. It’s hard to keep it from looking cluttered. #2 clutters up the weather info even further.

Cluttered is one thing, but overlapping is a different thing. That means that I cannot see part of your web at all.

Please try the 2nd home page at: http://stillwaterweather.com/wx/2ndhome.php Do columns still overlap and/or is horizontal scrolling needed?

Hi,
no the second one does not overlap. It is still not ideally scaled, but at least I can see it, there is a vertical and horizontal scroll

No horizontal scroll for me looking at this link… http://stillwaterweather.com/wx/2ndhome.php

I don’t think your main page should have 2 5-day forecasts from different sources, one from the NWS and one from WU… Just my opinion.

Number two displays correctly for me. Only needs vertical scroll. But some of the fonts such as in the navigation bar is so small it’s hard to read.
