I was looking to get an outdoor IP camera for sky watching. Then I saw there were plenty of so called “action camcorders” on ebay. All of them are packed in a waterproof housing with wifi connection and up to 4k video resolution. The price is around 40 EUR/USD. It would be very nice if these cameras worked as a standard IP camera but I don’t think they do.
Does anyone have any experience with them?
You can use them like a webcam so in principle it will work - but they aren’t designed to run continuously and power source could be problematic.
An IP camera is the simplest solution.
