Pointing a camera at the sky

Hi all.

I did a search on the forum looking for posts relating to cameras but didnt find what I was looking for so here goes.

I have been looking at trying to get a web cam type setup as if you were lating on your back on the ground. I came across Moonglow Technologies - All Sky Cam which is discontinued but it got me thinking.

Now I dont have endless monies to simply keep buying cameras etc just to try but has anyone had a go with say an (as an example) ip camera or similar with fish eye lens or say a roof mounted 360 lens/camera and turned it upside down?

maybe check out the bloomsky camera?

Thanks Brian. Yes I like that. It will do and I will make it happen…

I made one ,images are using the allskycam software

The camera only works in the day time, has I wanted to keep the cost
as low as possible

Michael,

Hope your well.

I really like how you have made your own, I have in the last few days added a dedicated cloud cam, so this is very topical to me as well.

Is this the software you are using http://www.moonglowtech.com/products/AllSkyCam/Support.shtmlV1.2 or would I need something else?

Cheers

Ian

Thanks Michael. I will check it out as well.

Hi

Yes I am using the software from AllSkyCam

It makes all the different images segments views from one domed image
You need to have a fisheye lens or a set up like the one I’m using
