Weather station USB data to router usb-port

My base station is not nearby my computer, but is is nearby my router.
my router has an USB port for a hard-disk or printer or scanner or whatever.
Is it possible to plug my USB data cable from my weahter-basestation-display to my routers USB port and then access it over my LAN network with my Weather software?

Sounds like an interesting idea. Have you tried it yet? Might be the only way to know.

I doubt that would work but please tell us what brand/model router and maybe someone can look at the documentation.

My router is an Arcadyan VGV7519 with two USB ports.
but i think the issue is how to point the software on my pc to the weather staion on the USB of my router.
I hope someone knows a solution, that should be great.

what weather station type?

if a davis…then you could get a IP data logger

the weather station is a Fineoffset WH 1080 with only USB output.

maybe a USB → IP then IP → USB
might work?

I found the manual, my take is that you cannot connect a device like a weather station to the USB port.
