Unusual humidity

Usually, in the spring, we have very high humidity as the temps rise, leading to very heavy night-time dew, often equal or nearly so, to the daytime evapotranspiration. The effect of this is to extend a rainless spring, bringing forth the wild flowers that form a magnificent carpet of colours for which the island is famous. This is followed by a drying period in June with the humidity dropping as the temperatures rise further. At this time of year, I would expect temperatures in the upper 30s, possibly lower 40s, with an RH less than 25% at the outside, often ~15%. this is hot but not uncomfortable because the heat index is lower than the temperature.

This year, up to the end of June/ beginning July, things seemed pretty normal with temps in the low-mid 30s and the RH down to about 25%. Over the last few days, life has become hell in this paradise. The humidity has risen so that, even though the temps are slightly under normal (today maxed at 35.4
