The max wind speed value in the summary line of the NOAA yearly summary table … It is neither an average nor a max?
For example the value 17.3 found here

In each one the max wind value doesn’t make sense (to me).
Out of interest, what’s the last line on those reports?
It looks quite different from the reports I get out of Cumulus

No idea! Never really noticed it.
You can see how your max wind speed of 38.4 makes sense. The highest value in the column.
Our ones don’t.

That 24.5 max wind doesn’t tally.
Interestingly all the monthly NOAA summaries are ok for max wind speed.
I think this may be a bug.

I have also ruled out different units: miles, knots, metres, feet, Beaufort etc
Out of interest, what's the last line on those reports?obviously should not be there, a bug, but I guess you already know that I will fix that, and investigate the max windspeed
use the latest .zip update to fix both issues

Hi Brian - unfortunately I am not sure if the error has been fixed on the year’s NOAA file.
I tried to recreate the 2011 year and it still shows a value lower than what you should see for the max windgust for the whole year.
any ideas?
i have put the build and version at the top.
Further to the post previously perhaps I have not recreated the 2011 NOAA file properly.
How do I do this please?

I have recreated month by month for 2011 but the overall yearly wind gust max for 2011 is still unchanged.

when you go to view, av/ext, noaa report , and select the year to view and then click on year
does that then show correct?
are you sure you are using the latest .zip udpate?

i found up to “noaa style reports”
then i alter the year to 2011 in select the date to calculate" box, right?
then click “records to date for the year”
which version did you fix the bug on Brian?
