I operate a Vaisala Maws 120 weather station, do you know if it’s supported by WD, I’m having 190 Kmh wind readings, but it doesn’t matter which unit I use, they are always off the roof, do you know how can I fix this??

Start WD,click on control panel ,click on station type, click on visiala. try to setup from there.

thanks for reply chucl1932, I have tried that setting too, the other sensors works fine except for the wind sensor, I just can't get it to read correctly, I might be doing something wrong, any other ideas???

I forget to mention that the Vaisala model is not listed under the station type list.
the problem will most likely be with the units you have the wind sensor set to output as
what do you have that set as on the station output?
also enable raw logging : setup, advanced/misc and then tick, log the raw data
then post here what shows under view, WS2010/WS2500 data setup
Here is what I get from the readings, the weather station is configured using the Vaisala MAWS201M that is listed, I checked the units, the wind sensor and WD are set to km/h both of them, hope this will help.

I used the Vaisala WXT510/520 configuration, I have no readings in WD but in WS2010/WS250 view I get the actual readings from all sensors (including wind), any thoughts??

its assuming the wind data is in m/s for a Maws201m
re changing to a WXt510 station type
did you then restart WD?
and what then shows under view ,WS2010/WS2500 data setup?

I restart WD after I change to a WXt510 station type, but I have no readings at all in WD, and here is an image for what shows under view, WS2012/WS2500.
This are the actual readings from the station. Hope this helps

it looks like you should be setting to use the MAWS station type
(as you said all the data is coming through OK into WD except wind speed?)
do that
and then use this new update

its interesting how you say if set to a WX510 type station then there is a row of data showing that contains all the raw data?

Hi Brian, sorry for the late reply but I’ve been kind of busy this days.
that’s correct when I configure the WXT510 station type I can see a row of correct data that contains all the raw data even the wind speed, but I don’t see any readings in WD, but when is configured the MAWS201M type I don’t see a relationship of in the raw data and the station readings, and yes the numbers change from time to time.
I’m starting to believe there is a communication problem between the station’s datalogger and WD, it looks like they just can’t get along hahahaha, what do you think???

I think the solution is we use the WXT510 mode
since all the data is appearing there
and I change to parse out that raw data
if you could do a copy/paste from the WS2010/WS2500 data window into a post when in that mode
(change the com port number to stop the data flow)
