Thanks, it's working now, but it didn't like 100% for the width and height so had to stay with your default 800 and 600.

You had me worried for a moment. One of the beta releases had 100% for the sizes and that broke so I was sure that I'd changed the released index.html. However, your reference to percentages made me go to check what had actually been released! Stuart is correct, some browsers seem to get confused with percentages especially when <div>s are lurking within the code.

OK, thanks, Chris and Stuart

1. I confirm that it does not work with 99% and 99%, either. It does not start configuration loading. Still on 800/600 w/h. (Caching may hide this, at first)

2. It was not the colour of the white bands that was bothering me, it was the fact that quite a bit of real estate was lost, as the maps plus sidebar do not fill the space allotted to them. I feel reasonably certain this was not the case with vv. 1_xx

3. I like the new interface, great improvement.

I must admit I use 99% and 600 for width.... which works for me.

No that was true of V1 as well... which is one reason why I set the background colour to hide this. I have no idea whether Chris can improve on this.

I'm not sure what I can do about the bars. The Flash movie fills a fixed space and any space on the page outside of the Flash is under control of the HTML. You should be able to change the size of the bars by adjusting the HTML that you can see.

I have found that 790x660 is about as close as I can get to no white space around the flash object with the flyout panel always out (my default mode). So it would seem there is an optimum size above which there is just wasted space that the object will not fill.

Thanks, Stuart. I've now put in 800x700 and this eliminates left and right bars, with slight ones north and south that don't bother me. At least, the real estate looks better filled.

Just upgraded from WML 1.04 to WML 2.04. 2 computers sitting side by side both running latest flash and Firefox. Refreshed cache on both computers, one displays and the other computer says upgrade flash(which I did). Can someone please check and see what shows? Link: http://www.ardmoreweatherlive.com/meso_live.php .

Thanks, Doug

Doug,

Your WML is actually at:

Did you upload the new swfobject.js that comes with Version 2.04 (I think it is a new one)

The only other thing I see in the discussion that may aply is:

Quote
2) Change the id for the 'Flash Player needed' <div> from 'flashcontent' to 'wmlswf'

You need to install v7, or greater, of Flash Player from Adobe and have javascript enabled to view WeatherMap Live.

Looks like I have it working now. New wmlv2_04.swf file and stayed with the old swfobject. Could not get the size to work with "%".

Thanks for the help, Doug
