VpConsole: No response after several retries for Wake Up Console

I have installed the following configuration:

Davis Vantage Vue
USB Logger at Davis Envoy trough com5, using Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge driver.
Weather Display 10.37Q b87
Weatherlink 5.9.3

I have configured the registerd Virtual VP Version 1.2.5:
Vantage Pro at COM5, VP Can restart the Davis USB logger.
Weather Display at Console TCP/IP 127.0.0.1 port 5511
Weatherlink at Consol TCP/IP 127.0.0.1 port 5512

I received every other second a error message:

I have tried nummerous different settings but the error message continues to appear and no clue anymore what to do. Both Weather Display and Weatherlink appear to work fine for a couple of hours.

Any ideas

Have you just started using VVP or has it worked in the past?
Do you get any data into WD & WL through VVP or does it always show the errors?
If you’re using Window 7 then check the power save settings and make sure that the USB ports don’t have the power save turned on as this can disable them even if they are being used.
Do you have the latest Silicon Labs drivers?

All power settings are disabled, both in the version 6.5 driver setting as in the advance energy setting.

These errors always appear although both Weaterlink and Weatherdisplay are receiving data normally from Virtual VP.

I get these errors as well usually every night during the daily change over for WD. Do you have someting set to run at 8:25 that maybe interfering?

The 8:25 time is just a snapshot, the errors occur every 2 seconds 24/7

Could you post a screen shot of your settings page in virtual vp. If your using comm 5 have you tried using the serial ports for weather link and wd versus trying to run them over tcp/ip

This is a screenshot of my virtual settings. It is the VP console reporting errors, this also happens when Weatherlink and/or WeatherDisplay are not connected.


I was never able to get this to work properly using TCP/IP. I am posting a screenshot of my settings as a reference.
Since your using USB have you tried using the virtual comm ports?


Thank you. I have never tried to install virtual comm ports. Guess that will be the next step to try. What virtual comm app should I use best?

I am using the N8VBvCom Driver it has been very good for me over the years.
On the Virtual VP DOwnloads page there are a few links to other drivers.

I have installed the N8VBvCOMS drivers and have it operational within Virtual VP. Unfortunately the error messages keep appearing, althoud Virtual VP seems to work correctly. Both Weather Display and Weatherlink are receiving data.

I wonder if your reception is low? At least everything seems to be working. I only get the warning maybe once a day. If everything seems to be working you could always uncheck the warnings so they are not logged and see how it runs for a few days.

A firmware update of the console may help also to sort the problem out.
