from a terminal window (see under applications, utilities)
first type
cd /../ (then hit enter)
then
copy paste the line below into that terminal window

sudo chown -R root:admin /Applications/WeatherD.app
(then hit enter)
(then enter your password when prompted)

sudo chmod -R 775 /Applications/WeatherD.app

also do the same for

sudo chown -R root:admin "/Library/Application Support/wdisplay/"
(then enter your password)

sudo chmod -R 775  "/Library/Application Support/wdisplay/"

you need to run this from the root

and you may need to enclose the directory in " "
i.e
sudo chown -R root:admin "/Library/Application Support/wdisplay/"

sudo chmod -R 775  "/Library/Application Support/wdisplay/"

To run a cron program from a terminal window, to check for errors for debugging:
cd /../
cd /Applications/WeatherD.app/contents/Resources/
./cronftpreal

You should be prompted for a password after you enter the sudo command.  I think that if you have already provided the password you will not be prompted a second time.

I am trying to open the latest WD version for mac [Weather Display For Intel MAC OSX10.8 and above v 10.37Mac Build 272] but the blue progress line stops at about 75% when the display reads "Cron files location......" and the the display closes abruptly.

I have followed the Terminal instructions as above and have copied the result below.

What am I doing wrong - or what should I be doing?!

Thanks in anticipation......

try
move the folder
/Library/Application Support/wdisplay/
to
/Users/[yourusername]/Documents/

then delete the folder in application support
