Interesting. Aren't madis station sites like test stations?

Actually, if you send your data to CWOP it effectively becomes a part of the MADIS data set.

I wonder if you add the Madis to your station registration page, what it would do

My OS station has the same MADIS ID as a Davis station just up the road. Maybe the MADIS grid has big squares.

The Netatmo station round the corner doesn't seem to rate a MADIS ID. . .

It's meant to be fun. . .

Plus the fact that WU has been a complete train wreck for sometime now, it's no surprise.

I just discovered that a relatively new LaCrosse station (ie NO ability to post to CWOP/MADIS) has entered my MADIS ID in the WU station info page.  When he took his station live, he was all over the neighborhood facebook page touting his new station as though it was something new to the area (mine has been in continuous operation for almost 2 years).  I have reached out to him in a nice way with no response so far, but the bottom line, he has NO CWOP ID let alone a MADIS ID as I have thoroughly checked.  He is just misappropriated my MADIS ID.

Granted it does NO real harm since he has no ability to report his station info outside of WU and the LaCrosse webpage, but it sort of grates me the wrong way.  I run a Davis VP2 Plus FYI.
