Sending to findu.com but not wunderground!

So I registered my weather station to CWOP and had Russ Chadwick set them up for me. He is an employee for CWOP for whatnot. Once they registered I noticed the came up on wunderground.

Here is my parents station -

http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=MD5310
and
http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/wxpage.cgi?DW5310

Both are working perfect…

Yet the problem is with my station and I dont understand why because we both set them up the same way…

http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/wxpage.cgi?DW5318 - that is working fine since the start
http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=MD5318&day=1&year=2010&month=7 - yet this is where the PROBLEM is… this worked for an hour and isnt getting the data. I cant figure out how one site is working fine yet the other one isnt… How do I fix this? Thank you!

have you tried contacting wunderground?
(since the data feed is via CWOP to wunderground, I take it)
you can have WD update wunderground direct…

ya I am going to contact them next. Ya I do have WD to wunderground - http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KORPORTL110&day=2&year=2010&month=7 but I would be liking them both to be working for APRSWXNET’s sake.

http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KORHAPPY4&day=3&year=2010&month=7 - noticed my parents have two of them now which is what I would like. Dont understand why theres is working and not mine. We did the exact same setup…

the problem might be that this new CWOP station has not yet been allowed to update to MADIS, or has been stopped from doing so, if it was, for some reason (data quality, who knows)
have you asked Russ?

well it worked for the first hour as you can see… then stopped. Ya I emailed sent him an email and still waiting for a response.

If I remember right, if you provide your CWOP ID in the Wunderground setup it will filter out the MADIS submission so that you don’t see your data twice. Maybe that is it?

well i do notice on this page… http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KORPORTL110&day=3&year=2010&month=7

in the lower right is says

"About This PWS:

Lat: N 45

I have mine set up the way yours is because there’s no reason for Wunderground to show the same data under two different IDs, the Wunderground ID and the CWOP/MADIS ID. Either way, if you’re sending to CWOP it’ll go through the MADIS system and get to where you want it to go.

true good point. so then how to I change my parents station to be like mine?

Enter their CWOP ID in their Wunderground settings and they’ll act the same.

  • Jim

and how do i do this in detail please? Because I didnt do this for mine… it just did it on its own…

On Wunderground just go find your PWS settings then it’ll all become obvious. Hopefully you have your password to get in there.

got it, thanks! I was looking in weather display for it…

I did this and it still hasnt done anything about it… still acting the same way. But I guess it really doesnt matter. The data is still getting to them. I read somewhere that wunderground and drop the station if the quality is bad… I noticed on my station had a higher barometer then stations around me causing me to get a bad mark in that section. I fixed it and will have to wait 14 days for it to check the quality controls… maybe that might be it. But oh well doesnt matter because they are still getting the data
