More floods in NZ!

Eastern North Island, the Bay of Plenty, got 340mm over 3 days, 200mm of that falling in 1 day
and they had got 100mm only 10 days earlier too
(its winter here in NZ)






Lots of flooding damage in the area, 1 person lost there life from a slip :(

Here in Adelaide, we havent even had 300mm all year. yet you got it in three days. ouch.

it was caused by a stationary front and a moist northerly behind a blocking high :)

there are places in NZ that can get as much as 500mm in 24hours

the wettest places get 8000mm a year!
