Eric-- 1-Wire Sensor chain order

Is there a prefered sequence for chaining the 1-wire sensors together?

I have a solar, lightning and UV and had a issue. I had them chained as Solar…Lightning… UV

The Solar was getting some bad readings, if any at all. The UV was not affected. I then disconnected the lightning and went Solar, then UV and my solar is working fine again. Thanks.

Hi Mark,

Don’t know if had my sensor chain order with the other threads or not but my order goes:

From USB adapter>Power Injector>Lightning Detector>Solar Sensor>UV Sensor.

Slightly different from your original chain.

Did you have a chance to see what version your Lightning Detector is?

I forgot the last time I had it apart. I’ll take a look this weekend.

The order shouldn’t matter but since the DS2423 counter chip used in the Lightning Detector can be a bit picky sometimes I would suggest to put it as close to the adapter as you can. Also make sure to use CAT5 cable and don’t have a star topology without a Hub.

So are you saying that the lightning detector should be the first sensor in the chain?

Hi Mark,

Looks like he is suggesting that and see what happens. Mine seems to be working with the Lightning Detector being first in the chain.

Yes, try having the Lightning Detector as the first device in the chain and let us know how it works for you.
