Is there a way to be alerted if Virtual VP stops working

Not that there's any reason that it might (Power failure?), but if it does, is there any way to alert one to the fact via email or some other means?

I have a PHP script named Flatline-check.php that will notify you when your data flatlines.  Maybe that would do it? http://jcweather.us/scripts.php

Sure sounds like it would....if I had a clue how to use it. I'm in the beginning stages of creating my own site and unfortunately have no idea how to make this approach work. I'm taking note of it, though, and when I get up to speed, will give it a spin. Thanks! If there are any other possibilities, I'd love to hear them.
