I seem to loose 1-wire connectivity to WD occasionally, however I think it may be more to do with the way I have my station set up.
I use a Vmware 2 Server, where I host a Vista guest machine where WD lives. The 1-wire adapter is connected to the physical USB port on the host machine and provisioned to the Vista guest, along with a codemerc Seismometer. If I go to the VMware console and detach and re-attach the device, and reset WD’s 1-wire it finds them again.
It’s a long shot, but anyone else getting this behavior with a similar set-up ? I’ve looked at VMware support and have carried out all the fixes recommended for autoconnect USB etc.
If I write a command line script to attach & detach the USB device, how long would 1-wire take to find them again ? Or do you need to do a manual set/reset ?
